The switch 1's launch year was actually complete dogshit in retrospect. The only two great games were BotW and Mario Kart and Mario Kart was a 3 year old port sold for full price. Odyssey sucked, ARMS was trash, Splatoon 2 was fine but 3 was when they really nailed it. And no one cared about 1-2 switch or Snipperclips.

It's true that the switch 2 doesn't have a BotW, but the rest is way better.

It's the inverse. The Wii U had some of Nintendo's best games ever even if the console sold like shit. Mario Kart 8, Splatoon, SM3DW, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Yoshi's Woolly World, DKC Tropical Freeze, Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, Smash 4, Breath of the Wild, Mario Maker, and Pikmin 3 are all 9/10 or 10/10 games that were all Wii U games before being ported elsewhere.

The Switch 2 doesn't have a killer app yet. The Wii U had several every year. And yet the Switch 2 is poised to outsell the Wii U by its 1 year anniversary. To this day, several of these Wii U games haven't been topped. XCX is the best Xenoblade by far. Tropical Freeze is the best DKC by a decent margin. Mario Kart 8, especially after the Booster Course Pass, is the best Mario Kart by a country mile. Woolly World is arguably as good as, if not better than, the original Yoshi's Island. Bayo 2 is the best Bayonetta. Hell, Splatoon 1 is the best Splatoon.

I think what it needs is a good single player, a variety of modes, and character customization. Splatoon had that, but ARMS didn't. I know based on how little of it they showed that it WON'T have those things, but it COULD have and I think that's the worst part. The controls are open ended enough that they could have done obstacle courses and trick inputs that really emphasized the movement, and various items you could grab, throw, and even swing around besides just a basketball. And obviously people would love to customize their little character much like the Inklings. But no, we got wheelchair Blast Ball as a $20 tech demo and they left it at that.

I hope you're right, but I just can't help but feel that it getting rated in Korea is Nintendo putting pressure on Retro to put it out this year instead of them being confident they can finish it for this year (and for that matter, I kinda feel that way about Air Riders getting rated in Saudi Arabia, especially we haven't even seen gameplay of that yet).
