So Jin, Ragna and Saya are 3 blond orphan babies. They grow up with a nun till they are teens
Hazama shows up, gives Yukikaze (a sword) to jin and tells jin it would be really funny if he killed his sister and brother. and Jin almost does that. Ragna loses an arm and a leg in the process and Hazama kidnaps Saya
Why? well. Saya is the Successor of the Blue and the also The Origin, basically the mortal incarnation of the God of creation. So Hazama REEEEEEEALY hates her and needs her to materialize the Master Unit Amaterasu so he can finally kill it and stop the shitty time loop we are all into.
Oh yeah the time loop, basically after Jin almost murders ragna he grows up and becomes Jubei's student. Jubei had a buddie called blood ege, so he gives Ragna his buddie's coat and sword, Ragna now calls himself Ragna THE BLOOD EDGE and goes into a quest to find his sister. He goes to each of the main cities and into the goverment building, there he finds a cauldron (a thing that lets us go into the boundry) and there he finds a robot clone of his sister. he kills the clone and goes on like this for more 10 cities. then in one city the clone is V13, she stabs ragna and jumps into the cauldron with him killing them both
IF jin tries to save ragna here, when the cauldron explodes he gets blown into bits to the future where Rachel finds him and gives him the Susanoo Unit and then sends him back in time
Meanwhile V13 and Ragna become the Black Beast and sent back in time to the point where BB starts
There is also a possibility ragna doesn't become the black beast along with V13 and shows up in the past after the black beast shows up and he helps to stall him alongside Jubei. THIS is jubei's buddy, MrBloodedge

It's something that started a lot in Tekken 7 as well. Because offense is so strong and defense/movement is neutered, playing aggressive is too risky. Before you were able to confidently move up because you knew you could maneuver out of danger of block your way out. But not anymore. And now if you get hit you're going straight to the corner and losing half your life..
