If Undertale is a 10/10, then Deltarune is like an 8/10. Still good and with many graphical and gameplay improvements, but the writing isn't as ambitious (longer game doesn't mean more ambitious). The pacing on the inter-chapter level isn't as well-done as it is on the chapter level. In general it seems to bum around quite a bit not focusing on the overall themes the game seems to be trying to explore. It also has many of the same beats as Undertale, but isn't as coherent in its themes. But maybe it will become more clear what the game is trying to say the more of it is released.
