I think they should have let you play as Joel for the first couple hours in the "tutorial" around these new characters in the patrol group (Jessy, Dina and Abby), teaching all 3 the basic mechanics of the game, until Abby turns out to be who we know she is.

Then the game plays out relatively the same

The whole forgiveness is an absolutely retarded plotpoint, to an insane degree, so no. Whether it's Ellie or Joel, you can't have a 6 hours long revenge story with lots of murders, hate, deaths, only to end it at the very last second with the main character going as she is literally seconds away from completing her vengeance:

"Wait. Am I a bad guy? Vengeance. Vengeance is bad isn't it? I... Am I really a bad guy? No, I must stop vengeance! Vengeance is bad! I'm a good guy!"

It doesn't fucking work. Narratively, it's fucking insane.

But Ellie dying instead of Joel would be slightly better in two or three narrative points through the game, yes. Not good enough to make this shitshow any meaningfully better.

TLOU is a shit series, that somehow despite of its retarded creator managed to find popularity, we all saw how much of a fucking hack he truly turned out to be.I'm just glad people are finally recognizing how shit it truly is.

This game is unironically too adult for /v/. It's probably the game that filtered this board the most, and will remain that game for a long time. How can you expect these people to have actual deep thoughts about it when their main arguments are "muh jews", for like 80% of things they dislike not just this game. When TLOU 3 trailer drops they will pretend like they knew it was coming all along despite now claiming the franchise is dead.

The problem with the game is that TLOU(ps3) felt like a cohesive story that was closed and did not need any more development, in either DLC or much less sequel. Its like a slice on this crazy world and thats it. If they wanted a sequel they should have done completely new characters.

campaign grounded is ok, no return grounded is a lot harder. Also when i played grounded it was on NG+. Is the fact that the NPCs spot you instantly with zero delay a grounded thing or a NG+ thing? They were seeing me in 0.1 sec.

The real problem with that game is that the story is retarded, the characters makes no sense, it's written by a mongoloid that seems almost giddy to write the biggest piece of shit he could write, all to dab all over... uh, people? TLOU 2 real problem is that the writing is almost embarassingly, almost violently insultingly shit, violently so, giddily so, with a manic mania you can only find in the truly deranged.

Now there are some quibble here and there, yes, TLOU 1 is a complete story which means a sequel is hard, yes TLOU 2 gameplay is so so, you can point and quibble at one or two issues. None are the fundamental truth that the story and characters of this game are insulting on every level, and written by a Batman tier villain who is cackling maniacally while shitting and puking everywhere.

I played NG+ grounded as well so idk. I managed to complete grounded+ with chapter permadeath, mainly because I breezed through the early sections and then got to Hillcrest and was too far in to quit. Would not recommend.

I dunno. I liked the game overall, but would've worked better for me if there was no 'I'm pregnant' part (though Ellie's reactiojn is hilarious in a way) and that part with the bald kid talking about his 'difference'. Fuck that, even if 'you're my pack' later on was sweet.
Shame last part of the game is that short. Going commando was fun.
