Imagine if the lightning and the UI were pixel art too. Even if it's not pixel perfect, don't tell me there is not any materials ou there hat can allow for a simili-pixel art lightning. I used to be on some RPG Maker forum back in the days and the autist here would literally HUMILIATE you if you had the audacity to mix 16x16 sprites with HD effects.

It's a good take on the 2D Zelda format with gameplay that mixes up the format. It does have a major caveat though. Square enix implemented a gacha system for magicite skills, which adds a level of tedium that didn't need to be there. The currency for the gacha is generous in the gacha and you can mitigate it in the demo with hard saves but things could change in the release version

I just started playing Bravely Default, but it feels REALLY grindy. Should I just drop it?

The fucking "experts" say to use nothing but freelancer until job level 10 so I can get JP up abilities, but the freelancers are fucking awful, and I can't imagine trying to "experiment" with various jobs and shit when it takes a dozen hours to level up these jobs

playing like that in BD1 is a terrible idea, you get more JP later in the game iirc, so its better to make a team that works early on instead of rushing the bonus JP abilities early. BD2 fucked that up because of how JP work in that, so you can max out jobs in the first area. But in the first (and only good) game, you're better off just playing naturally until you get pretty far in.
