The decision to remove some of the bugs you have to kill for the light tears is weird too. I think there's an entire house in Kakariko village that you just never have any reason to visit in the HD version because there used to be a bug there but they removed it. How could they think it was too much shit to collect, but then release BotW the very next year which is absolutely BLOATED with shit you have to collect?

Probably because people did complain about there being too many, it was just listening to feedback for the game. Their whole stance with BOTW was "everything is optional but you will find something if you want to go looking". Not that it was good mind you, I think Koroks and chests with a rusty sword as a reward for a puzzle or fight at a cool out of the way location suck too but it wasn't required to get them.

There's a homebrew tool that lets you. I forget the name, but IIRC you can take a screenshot, then open a file server on the Wii U and transfer the file to your PC without needing to quit the game.

Actually I just remembered that you could also open the web browser while you were in a game, and upload a screenshot of whatever was being displayed when you opened it, to ANY website that allowed you to upload files. That's WITHOUT homebrew, you could just do this by default. Sadly, though, I doubt 4chan would work on the Wii U's web browser these days. It was so fucking good back in the day though, as far as console web browser go.

It seems like every version has its pros and cons, none of them are really definitive.

Interesting quirk of the GC version that definitely isn't in the other versions due to lacking analog triggers. After opening a chest, the camera will be at this unique angle. If you partially depress the left trigger, link will change his stance, but the camera won't center behind him. The camera will only center if you FULLY press the trigger. This "right after opening chest" state seems to be the only context in which a partial and full press behave differently. Neat!

PS1 emulators all just "work", no glitches no bugs no problems that I have ever seen.
I care about Duckstation's 9x upscaling to match the 4k CRT Royale preset I'm using.
I care about Duckstation's Dithering, interlacing, and even widescreen support for most games. And the game icons that match the ISO I'm using, which I believe are the same PS1 save screen icons.
If there's a better PS1 emulator experience mention it however Duckstation has never given me problems.
