Bloodborne doesn't have a good spear honestly. Saw Spear and Rifle Spear are both memes. Best polearm is transformed Hunter's Axe because it's like a halberd.

Haven't played BB in years but I remember it being a faster and longer, but slightly weaker version of the saw cleaver. Not bad, depends on your style. I used it for a good chunk of my very first run.

This shit and riflespear with arcane gems went absolutely fucking stupid pre arcane nerf. Like two shot anything level broken. Saw spear was still good for arc even afterward, probably the most versatile weapon in the game build wise desu. I never thought it was that fun tho, kind of a boring weapon.

Saw cleaver and saw spear are the two highest dps weapons in the game. Cleaver's advantage is verticality, spear's advantage is serration in both forms and thrust attacks.

I used to love baiting people with the follow up R2 in pvp. Just whiff the overhead slam and when they come in to punish launch their asses. Bloodborne PvP was really the last time I had fun with multiplayer in Souls, being able to parry heals was sweet and some of the environments were just great for it. Invading Cathedral Ward and closing the shortcut to make the host run through the whole area again was so much fun.

This game is easily the best Soulsborne game just for the fact that you can get every base game weapon right at the beginning by inputting a glyph, so I'm not forced to use total dogshit for 80% of the game until i get the weapon i want for the remaining 20. I never did the fight clubs I just did the regular invasions which weren’t handled ideally but still good enough. You could always invade Mensis and Frontier, but also certain bosses almost always had bells going too. Plus the tools at your disposal were just good enough to be varied, having someone chase you and hitting them with the rope molotov was fun, the old hunter bone was cool it just had a high cool factor.

I think it scaled better with Arcane, and that was it. Maybe, maybe the moveset was a bit better with the thrust attack, but that is sidegrade at best imho.
