If you mean it as in being one of the best and most beloved games in the franchise, yet getting flak from GenZ ADHD toddlers just for being "old"? Then yeah, it fits.

If you instead refer to FF7 being the first game most Westerners got to play of the genre or series, then no. RE1-3 did the heavy lifting first, and SH1 was just a (for once) actually good RE knockoff, with its very own, distinct mood and style.

Kojima had nothing to do with SH games.
Team-Silent was a separated sub-studio under Konami between 1998 to 2005.

That being said, you should stop being a mouth-breathing retard, and play all of them. Here's the SH PC Guide + PasteBin links:

I applaud you for figuring out that survival horror games revolve around problem solving, but I think you are suffering of quite limited perspective and probably some bad prior experiences with the actual puzzle genre, resulting a very silly prejudices.

I'm an ESL, and I could beat all of RE1-3 and SH1-3 just fine on my own, in the 1990s and early 00s. There was no internet, no fancy guides, and plenty of foreign terminology I had to look up from a physical dictionary... but other than that, even a child could beat these games. And replaying them is damn much fun.

Obviously Kojima's games are a whole different category of their own, most of them belonging in the stealth-action genre.

I don't even know what that means

This is true. Having a fully 3D town blew my fucking mind as a kid. When it comes to horror/atmosphere, it definitely wins, yet RE has tighter and more challenging gameplay.
