It was more intense than scary; examples being the chainsaw guy and the chainsaw sisters straight up decapitating an established protagonist in a manner of seconds if they ever come near you - or stuff like shooting the lake 3 times for funsies, only for you to get instantly eaten by a monster fish.

iirc you can eventually kill them if you pump enough rounds into them but its NOT worth it as you spend many bullets killing them without aiming at their weak spots. Many people who don;t catch on to clues quickly will probably end up killing them this way.

The island laboratory is the closest the game gets to feeling like Resident Evil in general, especially in the remake. The Regenerators are even best handled like a lot like many of the zombies through the earlier games where you're better off trying to kite them around.

Scariest I can remember was playing Slender. I thought something bad was going to happen and it was imminent. No way to prevent it. Just a matter of time and you don't know what time. As you collect pages it gets closer to that time.
So trying/progress is actually what will make things worse. Damned by your own curiosity. Not playing the correct option. But then you'll know something was there instead of defeating it. And it'll always be there. Part of the world.

Might have not worked like that. But that is how I gathered it to be.

So your only option was to try and die so you don't damn the world, at least for yourself. And too undefeated you'd spread it and make it more real until it was. You'd look for it but it'd be everywhere else, and then probably too there and you'd die by it. Everywhere over.

Good message that information is damning. But the game could be a lie. Even if you were in that game. That there was nothing to save just a trap showing you your stupidity.
Suggestion there's nothing to do just a suggestion. Not you. And not another you may be loyal to. As usual an alternative, an enemy if not made a better way and saying their challenge made you try and produce a better result than what was existent or known.
With limited options in a game, go around, enjoy the good. Even the scary atmosphere is appreciable. Don't need to be on top all the time. Or everything to be right. Maybe. Maybe not. A challenge too. How do you make this good, they might not know. Alter the game give it a journey to a better dream that's built from it.

Resident Evil 2 Remake features adaptive difficulty like RE4 did. But in the case of RE4, it affected the drops (ammo vs gold). In RE2 REmake's case, enemies would have variable HP bars invisible to the player. The zombies at the start of the game generally have lower HP by the end game zombies, still with me? Well on the third floor of the police station there's the hallway leading to the clock room, but there's an Asian zombie that lunges at the player always.

His aggro is rigged to max aggression regardless of how you're doing in the adaptive difficulty. After he got me twice as Leon and Claire, in all NG+ runs or fresh cycles I always use a shotgun and kill him regardless of how much noise and ammo it requires.

It is absurdly cheap. This is the modern version of the RE4 fridge ganado.

You can. Both in the original and the remake, Regens have a health threshold and will die regardless of hitting their weak points if you do enough damage. One of the tricks in the original was to use the shotgun to blow of one of their legs, then get behind them and use the knife. You'll stunlock them and after about 20 swipes they explode. Good on saving ammo and clearing the hallways if you're worried about backtracking.

Yep, they scared the shit out of me. Dead Island wasn't so bad for me. I could play it and was only a tad anxious when my parents weren't at home as I did. But Duskhaven left me scared shitless, I just couldn't do it, so I no clipped through the level lmao
