Now that the dust has settled, was Unicorn Overlord good or just a FOTM?

It is a good game, tones of classes and great art style, cool characters, fun story. All the quality of life features are refreshing to see.

The art of these games is amazing though and that's the only redeeming point they have. But vidya is bad for contemplative stuff

It was good, we haven't had an Ogre Battle 64-like game in forever.

The art was really good and the writing was above average if a bit generic, but the mechanics encourage you to skip the autobattler combat which is where the art appears. Also it's really easy even on hard. I dropped it when I got to the angel continent.

I mean, it's not like the auto-battler genre really gets very many games, competent or otherwise. As far as sheer scope and depth go, I thought it was fantastic. The writing was decent, and it was fun to run around and explore the world. So yeah, it was good. Who the fuck else is even making this type of game aside from the two hundred indie devs making their own variant of a backpack game.

I picked it up recently and am playing through it atm. Near the end of Drakenhold. Clearing the coliseum up to Amalia's recruitment at low level was pretty fun.
I don't really feel any need to watch the battles though.
