>online friend messages me
>"Hey, lets play some [insert game here]!"
>uninstalled this game ages ago because its fucking enormous in filesize + its not fotm anymore
>install it again because i like this person, takes me a day to reinstall
>message and ask if they want to play
>no response
>message again the next day
>no response, i can even see on steam that they were playing the game and were in an empty lobby briefly
>message again today
>"hey sorry new WoW patch/other game that requires 10000+ hours of investment came out today so going to be playing that for the foreseeable!"

This has happened like 4 times now with this same person, where he'll want to play a game with me and i'll install it, only for him to not actually play said game with me. I even installed WoW for him one-time expecting him to start off a new character/at least meet me in game to explain what to do and he just left me alone, and then he had the gall to be like "oh hey youre not playing WoW anymore? i thought you were gonna play it with me"

He didn’t ask, but I felt that. It’s like signing up for a group project and the other guy never shows up, then accuses you of not doing your part. Honestly just uninstall everything and play something solo at this point-least your backlog won’t ghost you.

name a game that takes a day to install

because it brings people together instead of tearing them apart

Buddy, once you realize that a majority of life is dealing with some people still stuck in a highschool mentality and are childishly selfish and unaware, then you can probably move the fuck on and make some actual friends.

Same but i message people and never ever respond just for them to be on the game without me.

When I say "a day" I mean he wanted to play it at like, late night and it was 70gb.

If i'm already struggling to get him to play a FREE game with me i'm not going to spend 8 dollars every few weeks on "lethal company but its anime girls this time" because he will either not buy the game or, again, just not play it.

So then why dont you chew out your “friend” instead of yapping to us about it? Call him out in his messages and tell him you’re tired of his bullshit. Worst case scenario he gets butthurt and stops wasting your time, which sounds like a win regardless

You should confront “friends” when they do shit that pisses you off regularly. If they’re really your friend, they’ll try to understand. If not, who needs em? That or just start ignoring/delete this guy if you cant be bothered to communicate your problems with him.

Ever since vidya came into society as a normal thing, or at least ever since the internet, it seems like more and more people become like this and adopt a weird chuuni mindset on life and their behavior, at least internally. I don't know whether it's pathetic, disgusting or sad or what.

Your 'friend' wanted to play the game at that moment. You weren't available and 'he' just moved on to play with available people. Why should 'he' wait for you? You were invited, YOU were invited but you weren't available, others were available, the group was formed, the game was played and then it moved on to something else. Don't worry about it, he will eventually stop inviting you.

As much as I hate Reddit, and especially Redditors, I wouldn't stoop so low as to insinuate even they would like that absolute trash. Hands down the worst work of fiction I've ever read in my life. I would rather subject myself to that Tails diaper comic that was used to derail threads a decade ago again than that schlock.

you are extrapolating to a future where you have to keep buying those games when it doesnt necessarily exist
if you strive to be a cool person that is fun to play with eventually you will settle into a routine of playing a game everyone already owns that is more of a slow burn or 100 gb free to play

It takes less than an hour to install a 70gb game and that's not even with optimal internet.

2nd and 3rd worlders should be banned from video games, the internet, tasty food, clothes and anything that has a screen.

Get a friend that plays real games instead of wow. Seriously, good fucking luck trying to be friends with a dedicated wow faggot if you don't also play wow and specifically play the way they like (and then you won't be in their guild so it still won't matter). I see way to many people online complain about this shit

He always moans about being a hermit/not having people to play games with so I end up feeling bad for him and try to break him out of his shell because i'm also in a similar sort of situation.

I called a friend out on his bullshit once. It wasn't even a big deal, it had something to do with his mic. I'd been telling him for ages to sit closer to his mic. Long story short, one day I realize that he sounds way better and it turns out he decided to fix his shit because the people he has been playing with nonstop for a few months asked him the same shit that I had been asking for years at this point. I called him out on it, he immediately left the call that we were on, and then every time after that moment, he would join the group call as soon as I leave. This was extremely consistent. After 2 months of him avoiding me I decided to cut my losses and unfriend him. It's been over a year at this point and he randomly sent a follow request on instagram. I just ignored it, because I genuinely don't understand his thought process. Literally if he just apologized for this retarded behavior then I'd forgive him and move on as if nothing had happen. Losing that friendship fucking hurt. Now my best friend splits his time with me and the group of friends that the other one is with.

He's just a bad friend. It sucks ass when you actually like the person, but at a certain point you need to get some respect for yourself and cut your loses.

>I called him out on it, he immediately left the call that we were on, and then every time after that moment, he would join the group call as soon as I leave
this is the strange behaviour
calling him out on it is kind of weird but also its not unreasonable for you to say something
why he didn't just say respond along the lines of
>yeah bro hearing it from all sides made me really start looking into it
true or not to basically just acknowledge that you were saying it as well because you were clearly hurt by it

Like i had different problem where i would activelly suggest games for my frend group to play and they would always say how that the game was too old or not their style and yet when i would ask for their games they wanted to play it was crickets and then several months later they just said that group was dead and fucked off not even posting replies to my messages in group chat.
