>gfl1
Not really a gacha.
Soulful janky gameplay with much more depth than you'd first expect, new players also get enough resources to cruise through the story comfortably.
Story is what you actually play it for. Extremely good writing, it takes a bit to get to it, but then the early parts don't have that much text either. If you make it to Deep Dive and Singularity and like it, you will probably be hooked enough to read the whole thing. There's also a cutscene interpreter online, so you can just read the whole thing as a visual novel if you want to (though that way it loses some of that ludonarrative integration).

>PNC
good art at times
gameplay is pretty fun, despite massive powercreep combined with greedy rates
absolutely insufferably dogshit writing, story takes forever to get anywhere, and when it does, it's not really that interesting

>gfl2
Uhh the models are hot?
The gameplay has all the makings of being fun, but it's not because of company executive decisions to make it more accessible.
For some reason robot operators shoot elemental attacks and use healing magic to make it more like Genshin.
Currently I can't really defend it, sorry.

>Reverse Collapse
Basically a puzzle game. If you like like really difficult turn-based games with a lot of player expression, I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Story is also quite good.
This game is insanely long. Get ready for 200 hours of cock and ball torture that will make you feel really good when you do beat it.

I played gf1 it was eh but apparently devs are doing some shit to make it into actuall game since development was ?finished?
I also played but dropped Reverse Collapse it is turn based game and if you want best rank you have to use your brain (im not good at this) im thinking of re trying it
And for GF2 its basically poor mans Xcom (at least it was when i played it druing the launch i got the snow loli and her weapon and dropped the game soon after her banner ended) also there is some major drama happening and IF i understood correcly devs released an unit that can WIPE ENTRE map on 1ST TURN (i dont follow the drama so this shit may be incorrect) and devs are apparently VERY stingy and did some retarded shit with skins.

These are directly contradictory.

not really, the story went through a lot of rewrites because it was left to the incompetent B-team while gfl1 was being finished, and among other things had a story about Daiyan having a romantic affair with some guy, which made the chinese feel like they're being cucked, especially since Daiyan is this perfect chinese wife stereotype

>IF i understood correcly devs released an unit that can WIPE ENTRE map on 1ST TURN
That would be Klukai. She is made that way to trigger AoE and function as boss DPS in a corrossive team, which happens to completely shred regular enemies. In her defense, most of the dedicated DPS characters can do some variant of this, but it's indicative of a bigger failing - the entire gameplay is essentially balanced for endgame content, with no real regard for story content. So, playing the game casually is miserable, and playing the game seriously is, you guessed it, miserable, because it asks you to do guild dailies for an hour repeating the same moves.
Somewhere between this exists well balanced fun gameplay in the side modes, but you don't get to play it often.

The game has a resource management mechanic, you can spend very limited resources to craft tools you'll use in different missions. You don't -need- any of them to beat a mission, and won't get softlocked, since most missions have some useable stuff lying around if you're willing to reset enough. Are you going to tripwire the guard to slow him down, slow him down with a field of gravel, put him to sleep with a cheap dart risking that he wakes up, or just kill him with a really expensive bazooka shot? I think that part of the game is pretty fun.

He worded it poorly but it's both. The stealth missions are puzzles where there is only really a couple pre determined paths you can take (unless you want to go loud which is an option for most missions) while the battle missions give you a lot of toys to work with.

How dark is it compared to Nikke? I really like dark, gritty games.

Im 2nd guy you replied but from what i got from playing Reverse Collapse it can get dark like experimentation on humans, monsters that attack everyone and shit like that it also has some time travel shit so that might maybe kill some fun ?. (and for 1st and 2nd game i dodnt know much since i barely played it but it can get there ?)

Reverse Collapse is great. GFL2 is shit. Playing them side to side is the greatest argument about why gacha makes everything trash.

Quite dark. I don't know that much about Nikke, but I'd imagine GFL's detailed worldbuilding makes its grimdark elements a lot more profound. It gets compared to Metal Gear a lot, and you get a lot of stories of various characters who aren't waifus at all just trying to make it between suffocating suffocating globalist utilitarianism on one side, and civilization-ending madness of science. It fronts as a story about machines learning to become more human, but it's actually about humans becoming machines.

GFL1 was originally intended to have all the main characters die in like the third major event (before they replaced the writer), and the road leading up to there is pretty grim, and that's before when people consider the story proper to start.

Reverse Collapse is set a long time after GFL, showing the world in an (arguably) even worse state. GFL2 doesn't really have that kind of writing yet, going more for the mass appeal, but there is a lot of fucked up shit in extra data that unlocks as you go through the story, which you can read for no reward.
