Not really a gacha.
Soulful janky gameplay with much more depth than you'd first expect, new players also get enough resources to cruise through the story comfortably.
Story is what you actually play it for. Extremely good writing, it takes a bit to get to it, but then the early parts don't have that much text either. If you make it to Deep Dive and Singularity and like it, you will probably be hooked enough to read the whole thing. There's also a cutscene interpreter online, so you can just read the whole thing as a visual novel if you want to (though that way it loses some of that ludonarrative integration).

good art at times
gameplay is pretty fun, despite massive powercreep combined with greedy rates
absolutely insufferably dogshit writing, story takes forever to get anywhere, and when it does, it's not really that interesting

Uhh the models are hot?
The gameplay has all the makings of being fun, but it's not because of company executive decisions to make it more accessible.
For some reason robot operators shoot elemental attacks and use healing magic to make it more like Genshin.
Currently I can't really defend it, sorry.

Basically a puzzle game. If you like like really difficult turn-based games with a lot of player expression, I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Story is also quite good.
This game is insanely long. Get ready for 200 hours of cock and ball torture that will make you feel really good when you do beat it.
