Yeah I got 4 reactors ready to be hooked up to a reserve of cells I've been slowly stockpiling.
I'm going to switch to nuclear power very soon. The next step is to really use all of my railroads and make a LTN network and finish Purple and Yellow. I have enough crafted red, green, blue, and gray science stored to finish the rest of the Nauvis techs before I make my trip to Vulcanus and then Fulgora.
I'm gonna have to learn both planets but I'm really gonna try to have Nauvis solved for the foreseeable future. I need to be able to bring a consistent amount of reinforced concrete for foundries.
I would already be in Vulcanus right now if I rushed, but then I would still have to worry about biters encroaching on my base.

A circuit Network is two or more entities connected by green or red wire.
The simplest circuit network is an inserter connected to a chest. You select read contents and for example if you have an inserter that takes metal plates from a belt and want that chest to have 1000 metal plates you can connect the inserter and the chest >read contents>select metal plates > disabled if metal plates higher or equal than 1000. That's the basic, arithmetic combinators and signals can be as simple as putting a chest with logistic and construction robots next to a roboport with an inserter , read the signals of how many available robots exist and every time the signal is 0, meaning all the bots are busy the inserter will activate and put robots into the roboports so you only use the amount of robot you actually need.
Circuit networks have infinite range because you can connect green or red cables to power poles. Hope that helps

You're way overprepared. Get started on space science (you don't even have to personally leave the planet for it), set up enough radars to get full coverage of the biters and the territory they might expand to, and then just look at the map every few hours and remote-drive the tank to kill the expansions as needed. Also upgrade to uranium ammo/shells for the tank, they're worth it.

Anonymous No.717451951

The Arithmetic Combinators are fucking amazing, yeah. You can do some really useful shit with them like getting stations to self-regulate regardless of distance between train stations.
I have a set up that makes it so that the priority rises as the chest quantity drops. So the station with lower stockpiles goes next on the list of trains coming in to re-supply it.
It's self-regulating.
And all you need is two arithmetic combinators to make it work.
And if you know how to do interrupts, you can literally set up groups to use a depot between supply runs and just have a fuck ton of through-put.
It's actually great. Trains were never easier for me than they are now.
Anonymous No.717452393

Not true, the most useful thing in the game is an assembler with an arithmetic combinator, requester and provider chest. You hook it up so it requests 10x of whatever the recipe is and you can build anything. Even if you're on another planet, just change the setting and your robots will bring the ingredients in on their own.

I was testing out how they interact with other enemies, maybe they'd fight each other.
but no, on Gleba the biters just joined the pentapod nests, and on Vulcanus a demolisher can run them over and they don't die.

productivity is always better. you only use direct speed modules if the recipe doesn't allow productivity or if you fucked up and want to loosen a bottleneck rather than rebuild.

Okay. Can someone explain to me how to set a circuit network to recognize turrets as part of the network and only activate a number of them once one gets destroyed?
I saw a cool vulcanus exploit where you funnel a demolisher down a 'tunnel' of turrets and enable them all once she reaches the 'end'.
It also works with tesla turrets but the electricity spike is fucking crazy with that one.

The way I do it is set down like 100 turrets and fill them with 50 ammo each.
Then wire them all together counting the amount of ammo
Since there are 100 turrets x 50 ammo, there is 5000 ammo
So set enable condition to < 5000 ammo.
Then they won't shoot until one turret is destroyed and the total ammo drops below 5000

I like the game but I fucking hate TRAINS. I am DISGUSTED by TRAINS. I live by a trainyard in a major shipping and railway station, and I HATE THEM. They are so fucking LOUD and they always bang into things and honk their horns in the middle of the night so I HATE THEM. And do get across town, you have to go all the way around it because this entire city is built around not just the trainyard, but also an Air Force base in the fucking middle of it so it's just a big stupid fucking circle around these goddamn things and I DO NOT LIKE THEM

so in Factorio, I do not use trains or drones, they are GARBAGE IN MY EYES

circuits just transfer information
you can put information in one end and get that same information at the other end
or you can put some things in the middle to change the information in a circuit
you can then use the information in a circuit to control machines in your factory
its not difficult conceptually

Autismo of 'number go up'
There is a tech tree/research mechanic and there are 'enemies' called Biters that will attack you regularly but it's possible to sya, put down the minimum requirements and just 'wait'

The appeal of it is pretty much a mixture between optimization (ie belts can only move items so fast, so having mines that produce say, double what can go o na belt isn't optimal) or 'haha belts run everywhere cause funny' playstyle

Also it has trains which hits the autismo massively

There is a demo you can try but it's not really relevant to the entire game imo unless they changed it for 2.0

It's more like Runescape imo, outside of actively fighting the biters, you can pretty much play it like RS and have a video on another screen or play it at work (I tend to do that mostly at work)
