I did until I was in college for computer science. I had a roommate that leased a room during the summer from us after he had worked for EA, and his stories were enough to convince me to never go near gaming companies when I graduated. Later I met more people that did gaming work, and they just reaffirmed that it's one of the most high-stress, tight-deadline, low-pay programming industries out there. It's also hard to escape later on because game coding has so little crossover with what most other devs do.
