Apparently they're updating it with interplanetary travel and they are making a 2nd expansion. Coming to PS5 in 2026 so probs most of the shitposting will die down.

Game is so shit nobody wants to. They'd rather put a space strip club in Skyrim.

Starfield was quite literally the most repetitive Bethesda title ever released. No other game has felt like Starfield. Every story mission, even the ones on other planets had you return to the same spot over and over. Start game, leave tutorial area, go to the HQ which is where 70% of all missions will have you end at. It's no surprise when you beat the game the first place it takes you to is there. Every dungeon was the same, from planet NI-66-A to Pluto it's always either some outpost constructed for no feasible reason or a cave with people treating it like it's a vault of ancient relics. The rewards for repeating a new cycle was a slightly different colored armor (and one difference to the main crew that had zero affect on the story, some of them were literally just "Here's important plot device, leave"). You can easily break the game just by going to a planet far away, grabbing a random grey tier weapon and it'll outmatch any other gun you'll find for the entire story and most of your run, that's like if you could immediately grab a Daedric sword and armor in Skyrim the moment you reach Whiterun just by getting to Windhelm. All character motivation is disjointed and not at all connected, one character wants money, the other religious truth, the leader wants scientific progress, another just wants to be there, and another just wants to help his family. Main story planets are just theme parks, go to cowboy planet, crime planet, police state planet.

Devs need to stop bragging about procgen planets. It's not an achievement, it's been done ages ago and better. Because they bragged about it people expected a lot from it, they expected dense themeparks that Bethesda is now known for but thousands of them. The planets being shitty barren rocks is actually fine and more realistic than NMS level of every planet being covered in gay rainbow fauna. But that all got wrapped up in the game being shitty, deficient and retarded in every metric and once again procgen gets the blame when its just a often-abused tool.

That it exists the way it does is interesting. The way it actually got made despite having no passion or energy or ambition behind it is some sort of impressive. It's the video game equivalent of a rock at the bottom of a hill remaining where it is.
