False. The banshee has an extremely tight turn radius and literally no stall speed. The banshee would shit on a spitfire in a one or two circle dogfight with ease.

Per in game performance yes
Per lore performance no
Many such cases

All the spit has to do is extend away since the banshee moves at a moderate jogging pace.

A Spitfire can only manage 15 seconds of sustained fire before running out of ammo and has far less accurate guns than anything in Halo. It would be lucky to even knock out the energy shields before it had to retreat
Anonymous No.717478264 [Report]
isn't the banshee the functional equivalent of an ultralight aircraft borked into the CAS role which makes this statement not really impressive

99% of Covenant weaponry is nerfed in the games for playability. Even in games you can see how powerful their stuff is like in Reach where all you need is one needler rifle round on a spartan with no shield.

Yes. That's the point. Humanity wins on land, sea, and air, but none of it maters because they always lose in space and once the stars are lost everything under them burns.

>Humanity wins on land, sea, and air
Not always the case depending on covenant numbers, there are some engagements where they opted to just drown UNSC forces in cannon fodder and they didn't have the means to really adapt against it. Especially if it was brutes who elites loved throwing against heavy positions in meat grinder waves.

Helicopters beat prop planes at low altitude, and the banshee can hover in place so it would dab all over the spitfire.

Bullets move faster than a plasma bolt. The covenant portrayed as some super army is stupid since their army consists of weapons that shoot slow and glow in the dark bullets make it easy to track where the fuck the fire came from
Anonymous No.717479214 [Report] >>717485678

All a Banshee has to do is turn to face the Spitfire when it's making an attack. A single plasma bolt would cut that antique in half

Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure I remember nearly all covie weapons having different velocities on plasma weapons. Both for small-arms and vehicles. Not to mention their space ships which undoubtedly have to be comparable to UNSC missile speeds at the very least to fight across however many kilometers in space ship vs ship combat usually happens at.
So I think a banshee wouldn't have an issue fighting a fast-moving fighter. Hell, you can take damage in Halo Reach's fighter section when just banshees are around. And thats a super advanced craft, not an airplane from ww2.

Tracers exist to direct fire. You put it in a machine gun that's actively suppressing enemy infantry so that the squad can kill whatever you're directing fire at.
Now think long and hard in that walnut sized brain of yours why no military on the planet has ever outfitted every single soldier with nothing but tracers.

Why would a Spitfire get into a turn fight with something that performs like a Sopwith Camel? Just do hit and run attacks, it has no defense against that.
>>717479214
Its plasma bolts move awfully slow. I think the Spiftire's guns outrange it. Even the .303s.

Get out of the line of fire? The spitfire is nowhere near agile enough to keep something in it's sight that can turn 180 degrees in a second

I wonder how influenced by Stargate the writers at Bungie were. Because the Covenant vs UNSC dynamic is just a less extreme version of the Goa'uls vs SGC dynamic.

If you got a pilot's license you could go fly helicopters and get paid for it, they're about equivalent in role and performance to a banshee. Of course you wouldn't get to blow things up, but you would make lots of money.

If you really want to get into an argument over the banshee's survivability, shoot at one with a hornet. The auto cannon has the same caliber as the spitfire's better guns. Keep in mind that the it has bullet magnetism, no turbulence to contend with and a far higher turning speed than any plane known to man

A spartan could do the same to a Spitfire. It would only take one bullet to penetrate the fuselage and hit something critical

So a few rounds from a Spitfire's .303s could take down a Banshee.
