basically if i'm being intellectually honest i can't tell you 100% because im not the one doing the lying but we can assume a few things

1. the space agencies are raking in trillions of dollars, NASA's daily budget is $70000000 every single day, every single week, every single month etc since 1958 and all we get are shitty computer generated images of nothing. there's no livestream of earth from space or anything like that, nothing actually meaningful

2. the only thing money can't buy is physical land under our feet, they could be hiding continents from us while we compete with what we see on google maps. we aren't allowed to freely explore and travel earth beyond the 60th south parallel as per article VI of the antartic ice treaty

3. the #1 reason is that when they tell you that earth is a meaningless speck of dust in an infinite sea of other planets, and that you're basically a worthless monkey born to die on this meaningless rock, it makes you a nihilistic agnostic/atheist that thinks "yolo" and that you should be selfish and put yourself first because nothing matters after you die anyway, and it tries to distract you from the idea that there is a very real Creator, everything around us has insane logic and is extremely based. all the food you need grows from the ground infinitely, all the water you need falls from the sky, your human body is an amazing creation that allows your soul to experience reality, etc. it is empowering to know that you aren't a worthless monkey but actually a divine being with a noble spirit/purpose, so distracting you from this makes you give "scientists" authority and allows them to trick you into convincing you are here for no reason except pure chaotic chance
