Save 20% when buying Titan Quest II on Steam.

In Titan Quest 2, Nemesis, Goddess of Retribution, is out of control. She is corrupting the Threads of Fate and punishing all those who oppose her. Take up your weapon, fight alongside gods, and change fate itself in Titan Quest II, an action RPG inspired by Greek mythology.

>b-b-but they heckin made titan quest!
Grim yawn is a total insult towards Titan Quest, game mechanics are a complete unoriginal ripoff, setting is an unoriginal Diablo ripoff as a cowardly kneejerk reaction to ActiBlizzard's then-recent "diablo" game. TQ was about divergent evolution of the genre, grim yawn is retreading same ground in the most banal manner.
Anonymous No.717513119 [Report]
All the classes play very similarly, so the gimmick of having multiple class combinations doesn't really work.
The game is extremely ugly too, the magic effects are just over bloomed lights.
It runs like shit, constant stuttering.
The campaign is way too long, and the game only gets fun in the ng+ cycles, since normal is too easy, even with veteran mode turned on.

All that being said, I played like 100 hours and had fun, but running through the campaign multiple times made me drop it. My last 10 hours were on the crucible, but the game's graphics really look like shit on that small arena with all the magic effects on screen at the same time.

Apparently, every action RPG with a grim setting is a "diablo ripoff". Even if it features entirely different themes and inspirations. Diablo is gothic in style and about the whole heaven vs hell shit. Grim Dawn has a victorian/wild west style with themes of cosmic horror and alien threats. Kys retard.

This. Its the perfect game for people who only have an hour or two a night to sink into a game. The fact that every single zone isnt randomly generated really enhances that too. There are some areas that are huge and easy to get lost in on a first playthrough, but you can do a couple quests and come back to it the next day without have to fill out a whole nother map again. And then theres the proc gen end game dungeons for when you're fully kitted out and want to stuck in something for a good while.

I'm convinced you just need to be of a certain mindset/personality to enjoy ARPGs cause I just don't get the appeal and I've tried a few of them.
Like there's barely any plot or exploration, just kill monsters in a very disengaged way and they'll drop something that changes some of your numbers. You're not really interacting with quests or stories or npcs in a way that feels very meaningful even superficially.

In my case, it's the idea of creating an increasingly powerful toon. I actually appreciate the lack of cinematic moments in these games, they let me dive into the gameplay head first. The same reason I enjoy dungeon crawlers like wizardry and elminage.

>>717524298
Sure, I like getting more powerful but it just doesn't hit the same way when for the most part it's just some numbers changing. Like it's totally different but I kind of get what people see in it when I compare it to something like Elite Dangerous where a lot of the game is about juicing up your one ship and taking it from getting btfo by npc pirates to dueling other players, maybe I'm missing the improvement of a non-numerical skill like flying
>>717525037
I think it is just this, make number go up for more number go up
>>717525123
I would probably be a lot more into them if I had a good intuition for doing builds, I can't just load up poe and go hrmmm I'll just do all the fire witch passives and see what skill gems I get without inevitably hitting a wall where I need to either roll a new character or go to look up a guide and respec, and that just feels a lot less fun to do a paint by numbers sort've build.

It's actually pretty sweet if you:
-Play on veteran
-Use a gamepad
-Make a glass-cannon ranged build (kill quick, die quick)
-Reposition with the dodge and a movement rune all the time (you can dip into the forgotten gods expansion to get an early one)

So all in all it plays like an arcade game, eg: Shock Troopers, instead of the boring mouse destroying clickfests that Diablo clones tend to be.

It's alright. The elemental systems are stupid, they just feel like arbitrary colors without any significance behind the element, and the conversion system is retarded, it just means your build sucks until you fully convert all twenty damage types your skill gives, or you just play Soldier and do basically 100% physical and roflstomp the entire game. The components and enhancables and shit feel kind of retarded too, they're way too common and I'm barely bothering with them because I can stomp everything regardless. Loot is way too common, I haven't had to do any grinding even once, and I think I've beaten most of the end game content.

The biggest redeeming feature is that, despite every other skill feeling like wet toilet paper, Forcewave exists. It surpasses all the shit features of all the other skills
>ranged, but not a projectile so it doesn't randomly evaporate mid-air
>fully piercing explosion
>extremely long range
>doesn't require a ranged weapon despite being ranged, so you get to use the overpowered 2Handers that do like 10x more damage than puny 1Hers

Not that anon but no not really. Just do some research on the offiical leaderboard to find the best builds and pick one that looks like it has fun gameplay. Then all you need to do is learn how to make currency so you never need to learn how to craft, you can just trade for the gear you need. You don't need the best gear straight away, just incremental upgrades that make sense for your current level of wealth. Path of Building makes that all simple.
Game becomes a pretty standard arpg at that point. I've got 400 hours in it which isn't crazy and I've done every high level content I wanted to. 95% of that time was just playing completely zoned out as is the arpg way

For me personally I keep 3 clickers installed. D2R modded for better solo play, Last Epoch, and Grim Yawn. Then I just play whatever as my whims guide me

Unless your build relies on both a conduit and an mi, it's not a meme build. I have nothing.

The game goes from okay to KINO as soon as you get North of Homestead. Especially the Asterkarn Mountains segment up through the final boss.

I replayed Torchlight 2 because I noticed I'd never had a single character make it to lvl 100. After having done that now...Grim Dawn is a better game, and not having knockback is a big reason. It kills melee builds outright with this one mechanic, not even fumble does it. That every attack has some amount of knockback and bigger enemies can repeatedly push you around and make you whiff attacks, and you have to specifically slot in knockback resistance just to play the game again was fucking obnoxious. I'm glad the character I got to 100 was the cannon engineer and not the berserker. Fuck playing Berserker. Likewise having gear with level and stat requirements and having items routinely drop with either one or the other being out of range for you to wear. Effectively meaning you get nothing, and have to look at it for potentially a dozen levels before you can wear a piece of gear that becomes obsolete by then.

Grim Dawn has its own problems, but knockback ain't one.

They don't call it Grim Yawn for nothin

Having a great time with a Demolitionist/Inquisitor build. Got a piece of gear that gives a bunch of bonuses to thermite mines recently including a +12 second lifespan and I have enough gear bonuses for 16 points in blackwater cocktail. I just paint the map with fire and I love it. Only level 33, but can't wait to see what later stages are like. Wild wasp west is starting to wear slightly thin currently.

I dropped torchlight 2 after about an hour and a half. Never seen a bigger downgrade for a 1 into 2 sequel than that game. Just fucked up down the board in every way possible. Tragic.

Got bored around the 2nd DLC. Core gameplay just isnt that fun or engaging and most interesting interaction you'll have with enemies is "Oh shit that special just did 80% of my health in single hit i need to do something other than spamclick". I really liked the optional areas and yourchoicesmatter™ quests though.
