YOU! YEAH YOU! LET'S HAVE SOME POSITIVITY FOR A CHANGE! TELL ME YOUR FAVORITE GAME AND WHY DO YOU LOVE IT SO MUCH!

Hello Mr.Rat my favorite game is Void Stranger. I love how strong but vulnerable Lady Gray is. I love the story plot twists and ultimatum she had to face. I relate to her step daughter heavily on living a life with regrets after your mother passes. The things left unsaid or undone and the realization that you can never have the chance again. I liked the continuity and lore from his first game and soundtrack I think he's got a fantastic music score and pixel art. I love Sokoban games and meta puzzle progression so this game hit all my autism just right.

I guess ultimately it's warcraft 3 even though I don't play it anymore. I still like to open up twitch and watch someone play every now and again. I used to replay it every few years but I have gotten so efficient at it it's just not entertaining anymore. Still love it though. The story the models the gameplay everything.

I have been writing wc4 in my head since I finished it as a kid.

Quake Live
There's always a full free for all server to play on. I don't care if I come first or last. When I land a good shot it feels rewarding. I can play for hours listening to an audiobook or podcast.

I've never been good at picking favorites.

World of Warcraft but I cant play it anymore because the music the world the voices the spell sounds it all literally hurts my soul, all I hear are the echoes of a dead childhood and unfulfilled dreams. It’s also a constant buzz of a dead world butchered and raped by nuBlizzard. That game meant a lot to me and was literally an alternate reality i lived in for a decade, but the desire to move on became too great. I can reminisce, and accept that it was something deeply special in my formative years, but I can’t play it anymore. I cant even log onto classic for a nostalgia hit. Even listening to the ost on YouTube is emotionally draining. It’s a curious thing

If you want the tl;dr then I like Rune Factory 4 because it's an extremely well rounded game with surprising complexity and a great deal of care. I could go on forever, but there's a lot of "you can do that?" with each aspect of the game feeling connected and well developed.
The characters themselves are charming and feel lively with tons and tons of dialog and events as well. They'll even have little personal touches like how if you raise friendship with the clumsy girl and put her in your party then she'll learn an attack that's just her tripping which throws shit at the enemy, or if you bring the girl that's scared of ghosts to the haunted house while doing the story then she'll freak out and try to teleport away.
It was my first farming game, so I'm sure there's bias there, but no farming game I tried after came close

I've been playing Bulwark Evolution: Falconeer Chronicles recently. Dunno what that name is all about. It sounds like a weeb game but it isn't. It's a strategy and city building game, in a flooded world. Very fun, very aesthetic. I like it a lot.

Monster Girl Quest
Obviously it's some of the best character writing in vidya, which I'm a sucker for, but it's got a great integration of gameplay with the story too. When I pulled up every defense I had to barely survive a single casual strike from Erubetie β€” no game has ever made me feel so strong.
Obscenely good twists as well. The Tsukuyomi fight had me staring at the three words in my skills list for minutes while my brain pieced together the dozen different facts that showed I could have figured it out since the start of chapter 3.
I'm not even into femdom.

By the amount of hours played it would be Portal 2 for me. Custom maps are the shit, endless replayability.

Fallout 3 and Fable 2.
I love the exploration of fallout 3 and I despise how /v/ board culture makes it impossible to talk about.
Fable 2 I loved the minigames and combat.

Oh yeah, /v/ must hate your guts then. Very normiecore taste besides maybe Factorio. You ever get accused of being a slop consoomer too?

Ogre Battle 64's aesthetic ticks everything I like. The battle system is also great too, so even if I replay it every year I never get tired of it. I saw there was a romhack that increases enemy health and damage forcing some tighter tactics, but it doesn't seem to be released yet.

Dota 2. Nothing makes me feel as much alive as that game. Doing 2 hrs comebacks or micromanaging my teammates steps or taking the lead

Gothic 2 by a landslide. No game comes close to the handcrafted overworld and feeling of progression. I instanty fell in love with it when it came out. Also the soundtrack and german voice acting is top notch.

It's a fun game for sure, and I love vanillaware games in general, but it's just far too simplified in the gameplay. Possibly the best "modern" take though and well worth the price. I just wish it was harder.

yeah it was pretty easy. hardest fight was that 2 town fight in the snow stage.

had my core units go to the two towns but never expected a third area i had to send my new unit to deal with and die to (dodge angel lead with prince buffs)

Hey Professor Ratigan, my favorite game has Chrono Trigger ever since it came out. I ended up getting my copy because I was friends with some neighbor kids who didn't have an SNES but they pooled their money together and bought it anyway and then would rent an SNES for a weekend and play it 24/7 until they beat it, after which they sold it to me. I still have that cartridge, it has their name written on it in sharpie, still makes me smile.
Anyway I must've beaten the SNES and DS versions at least 20 times over decades since release, it is timeless to me. The characters, the music, the world, it all imprinted on me in a way that makes me always want to go back to it.

Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention

Just a great turn-based battler with a good story, comfy vibes all around, excellent soundtrack, and fun gameplay.
