no mans sky freighter mission got attacked they wanted me to go fight the ace but i was busy in another galaxy doing shit, come back to my entire freighter party being disabled and having to go fix them all

Baldur's Gate 1 had this with NPCs, made sense, they join up with you to do their quest and then they join you permanently. If you take too long they basically fuck off permanently, there are a few ways around it though.
