Have you ever built a PC before? How hard is it.

it can be pretty awkward but it's not a skill you need to learn like soldering, it's designed for any able bodied person 14 and up to complete it, complete beginners.

The hardest part is the power supply. You have to connect all the cables to the motherboard. It's a pain... Some cables are tiny. The truth is, paying $50 for someone to build your PC, if you're spending more than $1,000, really, do it.

I built one around 15 years ago and it was a pain in the arse to put together not because of any difficulty figuring out where things went - the manual made that easy - but because all the sockets required an excessive amount of force to plug things on and everything had sharp corners. I imagine that's probably less of an issue these days.
The more annoying part was that it turned out the PSU was faulty and it took weeks of troubleshooting to establish that as the issue and then RMA the part.

It is pretty hard to solder chip by chip, and all the caps, resistors, connectors..
but once it's done it's done.

In 2008. I spent about a year researching. When I finally bought it, I realized the I/O panel wasn't perfect and also had to troubleshoot one piece of hardware that was apparently DOA (not exactly, but there was something noticeably very wrong with the startup speed)

So I'd say if you've never done it and you think you have a decent idea, you'll still have some issues

my computer works fine excep[t every month or so my bios stops registering my SSD and gives me a blue screen on bootup. I have to reboot it maybe 1 or 2 times without changing ANYTHING and it registers,. This goes for about a week then it boots up like normal again. Ive even tried replugging the bios cables but it still does this

There's only two stressful parts. First is inserting the CPU and pressing down the mousetrap. Second is plugging in that USB hub cable to the motherboard, because for whatever reason they gave that cable an obnoxious deathgrip. Maybe if you're extra super frightful, applying paste for the CPU cooler will also be scary. But otherwise that's the worst of it. Just make sure to keep a separate computer around to pre-download your drivers, especially the motherboard drivers and the internet drivers.

people will say it's easy but you will need to set aside several hours for it. and something always goes wrong. whether it's the GPU being bigger than you expected, the ram isn't being recognized and you don't know why, you forgot to plug in one of the million tiny mobo plugs. plus it's harder for a man's hands, much easier to put together as a child or woman.
you should do it once for the experience and then just buy pre-built.

Easy. Just go to PC part picker and pick your parts. Then just plug everything into the motherboard. The only hard part is you might forget to plug something in, but it's not like your computer will explode so when you turn it on you'll have a good idea of what to fix.

Not hard. Just consult a chart made by people way more into it than you to ensure comparability then after that every part has a designated plug and port so it's even less complicated than legos. Just have an OS ready to install on a usb stick before you start if you're redoing your only computer

To me it seems like the price difference between building your own, and buying pre-built, isnt even that large anymore. 10 years ago it was significant. But nowadays, PC parts are really expensive. Even building it yourself you are gonna spend a shitload on the GPU and stuff.

Only GPUs are really bullshit (if you're looking for high end), otherwise you will come out on top by a decent amount when building it yourself. Brands off the shelf like ibuypower can come closer in price though, if you can stomach the swing in QC.

First time around? Probably a bit daunting especially with expensive parts. Locking the CPU into the motherboard is a bit anus-clenching, cable management is about the worst of it otherwise. Try asking if a friend's done this shit before.

it's not the easiest thing in the world but you have no excuse not to do it, it's designed so that any person without any working knowledge can complete the task. a 12 year old girl would be perfectly capable of building a pc. the hardest thing is going to be couple spots where you need to seat something and your hands are a bit sweaty and you're having trouble seeing what you're doing, you'll get past that.

>First time building
>RAM stick wasn't jammed in all the way so thought the build was fucked at first until figuring it out
>Second time 8 years later
>Had a better more open case so putting shit in was a breeze

It's only gotten easier over the years with all the building reference available. Now building/purchasing shit for other people is a different story if you're doing it for fucking dumbasses who don't know a fucking thing about PC's and get easily influenced by other jackasses who want to assert their intellect about how much "better" it could've been if they did it their way. Never again.

The hardest part is the CPU and the cooler. It's pretty much the only part that can fail in many ways if you don't do it right. From bending CPU pins, using too much thermal paste or not making a good contact with the CPU and the cooler and having shit temperatures as a result.
