Did you hate the game so much that you didn't get to discuss it enough the last time you made this thread? Certainly are thinking about it a lot for someone that thinks it's a reddit game.
>>717586513 (OP)
The game is good in the narrow window from after you complete the tutorial to a a few hours later when you've seen 95% of the planets and realize the game is going to be nothing but retreading the same paths you've already seen over and over again searching for the tiniest detail you missed that amounts to nothing except a few lines of reworded lore on reddit aliens
It takes like 2-3 hours to see most of the shit on the planets, yet it takes the average player 25 hours to beat the game, because the rest of the time is just retreading the same areas dicking around and chasing time-sensitive dead ends trying to find the 1% of the game that is actually the critical path instead of pointless lore flavor text

Midwit redditors love this stupid game for some reason. Or at least claim to love it, not like they actually have fun playing it.

I actually quite enjoyed the exploration at first when it was new and there was that sense of wonder, awe, and tension.
It was only after I started doing the same loops over and over for hours tying up all these dozens of loose (dead) ends, retreading the same areas, waiting for tiny timed windows to have a small chance to read a few lore tidbits or solve a pointless puzzle, chasing YET ANOTHER red herring that amounts to absolutely nothing, that I ultimately realized this is just a waste of time and the juice isn't worth the squeeze. I've seen the vast majority of what the game has to offer and the honeymoon period has worn off, now it's just become tired and tedious.
Interesting concept, pisspoor execution, horrible writing.

Why redditord love outer wilds so much? It was boring and mediocre and tedious
Imagine coming home tired from work and all you want to do is read alien tweets in the wall and check with the clue computer YOU HAVE NOT EXPLORED ALL PLANET YET

Everyone's playthrough is bound to be different. I chose to tackle things planet by planet, and only rarely tackling 2 at a time when I was stuck. This game generally shines in the journey, and the last run is just the culmination of all that you learned along the way.

Why does every popular game need a dedicated autist to lie about and smear it? Does the comfy space puzzle game with Majora's Mask time mechanics really need to be taken down a peg?

That's not even true... like every major location you can stop at contains a clue about a larger puzzle you need to figure out to finish the game.

Everything in this game is just designed to waste your time
>22 minutes and you restart from scratch
>oxygen and jetpack meters that last only a few minutes and require constant refill
>constant time sensitive events like sand falling, sand rising, brittle hollow destruction, giant's deep islands flying up, interloper flying by sun, sun station, warp alignment, and sequential tasks
>multiple long, convuted paths that you must retread constantly to get one more tidbit of info or even have a brief attempt at a puzzle (if it even *is* a puzzle, or maybe it's a pointless dead end, or maybe you need to do something on the other side of the galaxy first, who knows)
>anglerfish where you can only tilt analog stick 1mm or they instakill you
>glowing red (herring) light guarded by multiple anglerfish that amounts to absolutely nothing (not even a shiplog so you just think you're missing something)
>magic reddit space computer tells you there is more to explore when it's a) on an entirely different planet and b) just lore flavor text anyways
>ghost matter to conveniently instakill you if you step one toe out of line
>need a special unlocked ability just to kill yourself and start a new loop
>even fucking waiting at campfire takes like 3 minutes straight of just staring at a timer tick up
>overwhelming vast majority of shit in the game is utterly pointless aside from a bit of lore flavor text, a small minority is info (yu can usually figure out yourself), and like 1% is critical path

Just immerse yourself in the world/setting and check out whatever seems interesting.
