Hey anons, how about we race together in CTR?
Here's how to do it

>Crash Team Racing (1999)
1) Get a Playstation BIOS file (Preferably SCPH-7501) and an original US CTR dump image from somewhere (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vbAs2itnOWirBSMufclOlfvWf_yAhaMr/)
2) Download Launcher from https://www.online-ctr.com/ and follow instructions
3) Configure your controls (or click automatic mapping when it prompts you)
4) Pick a server and room (or make a private one using your IP)
5) Share the info and wait for anons to join
As simple as that!

1) Go to online
2) Wait while it loads
3) Matchmaking mode should probably connect anons together considering the online is not very active anymore, but if that doesn't work, players will need to add each other as friends in their platform of choice in order to make a Private Lobby
4) Wait a lot while it loads
5!) VERY IMPORTANT, since the game loads slightly better in newer consoles (PS5, Switch 2, Xbox X) it's inadvisable to skip the intro cutscene as it'll desync with other players and softlock the race lol

I think we can only do that on Private Lobbies, but CPU doesn't use clocks or anything online so we should be good

Nothing lol, boosts get you so quickly to max speed that really the only difference is turning and max Speed (which is also a bit useless since you turn quicker doing u turns anyways)

I'm really enjoying it, the driving is actually pretty solid, it is floatier than CTR but as you go faster things start feeling heavier, but the movement at all times is really snappy and you can adjust your drift quite well. I really enjoy the fact that hitting a wall doesn't kill your reserves but still takes a big chunk of them as a penalty.
It uses an HP mechanic so you can tank a couple hits before you spin out but the items themselves are kind of uninspired and you have little defensive options, one being a healing bot move that doesn't even heal you enough to tank a hit.

The big feature is the amount of mods and its modding community, people already imported all the CTR 1999 tracks with the CTR NF ones coming, + infinite characters, cars and wheels to do whatever you want, some even have custom voices and animations, it's really great.
