I have shot thousands of shotgun shells and I have never once had one jam on me. I've only had handguns jam with me when I used shitty reloaded Russian ammo

Gun jamming made me quit Tarkov because of how fucking annoying it was to clear it. "Hurr first you have to do some shitty button combo to look at your gun and then do another shitty button combo to actually clear it" meanwhile time to kill is like 0.002 seconds so if you gun jams you just fucking die.

Weapon/item durability is one of the most infuriating mechanics to deal with if its not balanced correctly or gamified to the point of being silly. I couldn't stand how in The Long Dark something like a crowbar, a solid piece of metal with zero moving parts, was apparently losing more than a percent of condition per use. Then there's the whetstones that somehow became useless after using them for so long, and the knives/axes/guns that seemed to be degrading way too quickly. It was never enough to kill the game for me but it was a constant pain in the ass to be babysitting gear that should function damn near indefinitely with minimal maintenance.

It cares about "realism" only insofar that it's a console shooter, but with really fucking annoying features that aren't even realistic to begin with.

Depending on the game this is okay. In a "realistic shooter" I just think the balance is shit. I drastically prefer low time to kill than high, for both me and my enemies. I want to be able to die in one or two hits, but I want the same to apply to my enemies. We're using the same goddamn guns, and we're the same squishy people.

I liked the Killing Floor 1 method of no crosshair, the ability to ADS, and having no accuracy penalty if you didn't aim. Pulling off precise muscle memory headshots at a distance without sighting in was so satisfying. Of course you couldn't really make it work in pvp because there's a jillion ways to force a crosshair outside of the actual game nowadays.

One of the game designs that I absolutely despise is when they make bosses with bland mechanics, but to compensate for that, they spawn some of the most annoying mobs with them. And it usually something that slows you down, stuns you or has insane AoE attacks. Lazy ass cancer design.
