Maps remind me of BF3's Close Quarters; self explanatory. Breakthrough is the best mode, I sort of wish it had jets, helicopters and tanks unlock at certain points but that's probably for other, bigger maps. Recoil is a bit too punishing without attachments?

I'll grant you the radius is kinda small. I've been hitting it p well but sometimes when I'm running for the res and try to keep going I'll miss but I chalk that up to a skill issue on my part. The charging bit is annoying and part of why I disliked playing medic in BF2 sometimes with how it worked in that game. But getting a fat 3-4 chain res in 6 feels so good. I think it balances out, no charge but you have to be precise. Either way, I'd rather someone take the chance and get both of us back to fighting rather than sitting there awkwardly already behind cover while someone just runs around the corner and gets us both killed because he's trying to give me a reacharound.

If anything it is the same old group of people who flock to and play Battlefield. lol I jumped with some old buddies of mine tonight and got top squad on pretty much all but one or two of the matches we played. it's a lot of fun but holy fuck Liberation Peak can eat my whole ass. Its either go meatgrind on C or go look in the 30 places someone can hide like a gremlin on D, die, then watch your team get backraged while they're blobbed on C.

I’m having fun playing engineer in conquest and have been doing really good, I go like 14-7 to 30-5. All depends if I get pinned down and am killing a lot, my main goal is blowing up land vehicles on the way to capping objectives.

That being said…This game actually has aggressive sbmm and even engagement based manipulation, if I’m doing really good for like 5+ games then the next games the opponents will become bullet sponges and I’ll start getting put in squads all the way at the bottom of the server and getting awkward spawns on objectives.

There used to be 1 full server of normal maps, 1 HC server always full on rotating maps, 2-3 Metro/ Locker 24/7 maps. This occurred till Squad and Hell Let Loose ate up a major chunk of them. Funny you call them a repair slut because we’re on the fourth day of the beta, and everyone who already achieved the engineer challenge quit giving a fuck and it’s apparent.

First two days you could easily charge into objectives with 4 engineers repairing you alongside infantry to push it.

Currently from what I’ve experienced people just focus on one or two alley chokepoints on Cairo and don’t even bother repairing or pushing up with the tank.

Also those class challenges are so fucking pathetic, it’s an obvious attempt to artificially boost the teamwork from classes in the game. And of course once most people unlock the challenge items they give up on teamwork and play Call of Duty at chokepoints.

I might have mentioned this before but sniping in this game is too easy. I can literally quickscope players across the map on breakthrough liberation peak like it’s nothing. Zero bullet drop, no janky yet somehow smooth sniping from 4 and 1.

Oh and better yet, the bullet velocity in this game is insane. Once you pull the trigger you get the instant dopamine notification rush on the screen. Whereas in previous Battlefields if you were quick on your feet you could actually dodge the bullet if you were in a sniper vs sniper scenario.

I’ve literally traded kills with other snipers 100+ meters from me several times and I only started playing recon at level 20.

The vehicles are fine. When you have a good position on the peak, you can rain shit at the enemy team quite easily. On the urban maps, tanks / IFW:s need infantry support or they get C4:d quite fast. Our squad operated as a Puma squad on the siege of Cairo and it was quite fun.

Aside from me getting a crash on drivers which i hope i can fix. I'm not exactly sure why this is divisive over /v/ or even claiming that it doesn't somehow represent what Battlefield is? I don't understand? what i do understand is that Dice should have made bigger maps. I think that's a fair complaint from the other maps I've seen glimpses of, but the mountain one seemed okay. I'll have to keep playing to see if i can understand what people are saying. I usually like to do my own impressions, i don't want to be told how to feel about it.

Probably just go for 4. 2042 is nowhere near a bad game nowadays, the bad reputation comes from the state at launch and the first year or so before they redid the maps. 1 if you like historical battles. The production values are sky high but it has the lowest populations and the guns are not interesting
