The problem is that in the game Max states that she hasn't been able to rewind for a long time and she acts in a way as if she's already move on from the events of the first game. There's also a part in their texts that shows Max wants to settle down but Chloe doesn't want to. Which isn't entirely out of character for her. The game contradicts itself constantly but by no means is it bad solely because of that part; although it is often cited as the only reason by the most deranged fans.

A 5/10 at best. It's the standard Life is Strange formula, so if you enjoy that gameplay then there's no fault there. Everything else about the game is what garnered its mixed reception. It's made with UE5 so performance can be eh and some settings that really mess up the visuals. There's also bugs still present that haven't been fixed. Nothing game breaking.

It's a shitty rehash of the first game's story with a few okay spots and interesting ideas that either lead nowhere and/or are squandered.

I got tricked by this game. Episode 1 and 2 were pretty good, had me eager to see where it was going. Then they killed off the one character who had potential to elevate the narrative in episode 3 and by the end of it I felt like this was the worst "narrative choice" game I've ever played.
