Why wouldn't you be able to run a newer card in your motherboard? Because of pci-e 3.0 instead of 4 or 5? It should still work, you'd only notice a difference if you hit the VRAM limit of a new GPU.

Any recommendation for an upgrade from a 1060 and ryzen 2600x? Preferably one that's good for heavily modded Minecraft. I'm tired of having to fiddle with settings so the FPS stops dropping.
