For King K Rool absolutely Bananza and I think for the Kritter's also look their best in the same game but I'm very partial to the Kremling design in DK Barrel Blast and 2 has some of the most varied unique Krems such as Kloak or Krook.

DKC2 is their greatest appearance although they are great no matter their “theme” imo. The only really flaw of DKC2 is that Crocodile Isle was destroyed, it was such a great setting and really allowed the Kremlings Krew to be fleshed out and become as iconic as they are today.

I love this edit so much, honestly I could see K Rool rocking a overpriced suit and a giant cigar hanging from his toothy sneer looking like Sykes from Oliver and Company but as a gator. One thing I always liked about his changing themes was that he'd retain an element of it for his future appearances though suppose that's mainly Smash using it for his moveset or Bananza having the kopter backpack in the second fight and him using souped up cannons evoking his Blunderbuss.

I kinda like it gets destroyed cause it represents a massive self destructive aspect of King K Rool's feud but also how the Kremlings are worse off for serving him yet can't escape his service while also flowing naturally to him trying to payback the Kongs with the Blast-o-matic

There's no way this wasn't considered at some point. But they probably wanted to address he was missing and pay Tribute to Rare's legacy this time. Hopefully we get new K.Rool cosplays in future games.

Ah loved this idea also from one of the past threads. Would be fun to see Kritter's in legionary gear plus having Klump's and Krusha's rocking up in fitting fatigues. Could imagine Emperor K. Roolius Kaesar for a boss fight using sica swords like boomerangs or maybe whipping out a gladiator net to catch you so he can bash you against pillars and the wall.

Because they haven't made any more. 2 is literally the only game in the entire franchise where all of the actual Kremlings are themed. Tropical Freeze is the only other one where all the enemies are themed but people call them soulless.

I always thought a lot of weird enemies in 3 were that way BECAUSE of his mad scientist bit.

Assuming the Kremling Krew comes back after Bananza I do have to wonder how much Nintendo's willing to push the whole "K. Rool has a different persona and different group of Kremlings" every game thing.

I imagine part of the reason to why they decided to bring K. Rool back was because they want DK to a big deal again and they likely realized it makes much more sense to have iconic reoccurring antagonists akin to Bowser and Ganon as opposed to disposable one-offs like the Tikis or Snowmads. So I feel like Nintendo would take more the Mario approach and retain basic enemy redesigns while at most giving them little changes to fit the overall theme (i.e tanooki tails, cat fur or hats) as opposed to Rare's mantra of "replace everything for the sake of replacing things". Even they kinda gave up on that by DK64 which was more of a best of compilation with Kritters, Zingers, Shuris, Gnawtys, Klumps, Klaptraps, Klobbers/Kabooms, Kroc, even Re-Koil was planned to come back as seen in pic related.

Evidently they're at least not against giving K. Rool a new outfit/form every game at the end as seen with the King of Rot but I feel like the days of Kritters being replaced with Klomp or Kobble are long over. At the most they're just gonna be given a funny hat and those other enemy types would at most co-exist with them (like Galoombas and Goombas).

I say this every thread but I'd love to see more female Kremling characters/enemies since only have Kalypso and Kass. Also some boss character Kremlings sorta like how the Snowmads had Pompy and Bashmaster or Jungle Beat had the evil boss Kongs would be neat.

I don't think so, not yet at least. It's too early to tell. Bananza was a reintroduction of the character and served as pure nolstalgia baiting, right down to the 'AUGH' when you killed a Kritter and Necky's screeches. We won't know for sure until we get a new DK game with K. Rool as the main antagonist. I'd like to see what wacky costumes/theme they throw him in next if they choose to continue the dress-up shenanigans.

Maybe something Japanese related now that they have creative control of him? Emperor K. Rool?

King of /v/ 2025 candidate?

The King one, and the OG Kremling Krew. The pirate one might follow the theme nicely since everyone is dressed like a pirate, but king is my favorite look of his and it fits his personality the most, and I enjoy the military outfits on Klump and Krusha. I wouldn't mind them sticking to his King form since I can't really imagine them coming up with a better disguise than the ones he already had.

Its a weird question because he dawns a new costume every game but only in 2 are all the kremlings themed thd same. In 1 he's king and his army has has just plain goons wearing stuff they found on DKs island or military equipment, or they are just animals. In 2 like I said all pirate themed aside from a few animals. In 3 it's similar to 1 but no military teeming at all and a few robots or advanced weaponry here and there and finally in 64 it's basically back to DKC1 again but k.rool is a boxer at the end
