I just only play old games I already know.
Maybe once every 3-5 years I'll pick up a new one. Most recently that was Nine Sols. I finished it a few months ago and went back to playing my usual.

Realising that I will never play anything I buy was a game-changer for me. My """backlog""" stopped growing and I've never felt like I was missing anything.

I only have a backlog because I kept accumulating games from Humble Bundles almost 10 years ago because I kept telling myself that I would eventually build a good PC, and I would even buy a couple of games I couldn't run back then in my laptop, such as MGR Revengeance or Dark Souls PtDE. For context, I have games and series such as:

>Deus Ex series
>F.E.A.R. series
>Hitman series
>Civilization III and IV
>S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

I have 159 untouched games in my Steam account, including like 10 new ones I bought this summer because I finally got a PC, so instead of playing everything that I accumulated, I'm now stuck playing Halo MCC. At least I finally beat Revengeance, but I already played Dark Souls on Switch, so PtDE will remain forever untouched.

I play whatever I'm in the mood for. Some games are a brisk pace that I have little hang ups getting through them. Others require more dedication and I juggle them. I also sample games from different genres. Sometimes they stick, other times they don't. Just sample some games. You aren't committed to beat them and you might find something you like.

I played an Arkanoid type game but there's enemies and they can shoot at you as well along with being able to reflect their shots back while juggling the ball. I also got further in Black Tiger today.

Depends on what I'm in a mood for and how much time I have for actual gaming. If I'm constantly buzzing around the house doing stuff I will rather play a turn based game and do a turn whenever I pass by my PC.

Depends on what I feel like. I do a couple of yearly replays so that helps. Like right now I'm finishing off my summer replay of Half-life and its expansions. Perhaps I'll move onto Half-Life 2 next. Maybe I'll play modded Morrowind. Maybe I'll finally pick up Abiotic Factor because of all the praise its getting. There's always something.
