This definitely isn't true on its own. If you don't do at least He Youzai and Fang Yao's quests then you are guaranteed to be locked into getting jarred (unless you do the short ending). I'm just wondering if you also need to do the old man quest to get all 5 chisels to cure the feathering for the true ending, since I realised the runs where I just did the first two quests were in NG+ where I already had all the chisels from the start.

Not necessarily, you do get +1,2 etc pendants and "stronger" needles but it does feel like they don't amount to much difference. I feel like they should have added more to the skill tree that only unlocks when you enter ng+. The health pool jump in ng+ is crazy though. For big bosses like Tiger or Emperor when you have ample time to R1 spam and L1 NUKE it's OP as fuck, extra damage during Burn is insane too.
For fast, nimble humanoids like elder where you get to hit him once in a while it takes like 3/4 of the fight till it accumulates enough for Burn to proc and then it runs out very fast doing insignificant damage.

You don't get to take advantage of this if the fag is dancing around like a fairy, doing long combos you need to dodge first.
Burn runs out fast.
Also small bosses don't eat all the fireballs from Infernal Firebrand sword skill.
If you have similar webm from Elder fight, Demon of Obsession or other fast humanoid post it.
Not saying that fire is useless, but you only get this crazy burst damage with big, slower bosses.

I mean I dont mind it that much bevause the runbacks were always no brainers and easy.

Take the lightning guy for example, his boss room is like 10s away from the spawn point and you dont have to fight anything along the way like with every other boss. I see no reason why we can't just start at the entrance.

Take DeS for example, the Flamelurker runback was ridiculous which required jumping down ledges then sprinting passed enemies that could box you in. I can understand why it would be called casualized if they added boss room spawns, when there was an actual difficulty getting there.

Mod archives for mod manager usually have an extra file that tells mod manager where to put the mod file. The .7z does not have that.

It's mostly just because it's all so massively samey.
This game has so many winding paths that loop back on themselves or lead to little treasures, but practically no value in doing so.
I'd honestly would have preferred more linear map design since there's not actually a lot of content to fill the map with.
Big maps like this would be cool for games with lots of secrets and loot.
