Just hyping investors. I haven't played CoD since MW2, and all battlefields I've played since 1942 except Hardline and 2042, but I would be happy if BF6 sold half as much as CoD. I just want it to be fast and fun to play with lots of players, I don't need it to be a cultural zeitgeist.

the beta was fun but the women are annoying and needlessly diminish the experience
ill still buy it though because there hasn't been a battlefield game this good since 3 and i've gotten desperate

If we're back in that territory of where Battlefield needs to compete with COD then it's dead in the water. MW2019 couldn't even do combined arms right since ground war sucked. It was inferior in every way in regards to how vehicles handled, destruction physics etc.
Instead of being focused on the best combined arms game it could be, Battlefield has gone in the COD direction. Which explains how you have a prolific COD dev involved in Dice's game.
Isn't it's launch price like 70 dollars? I don't see myself buying it for that at all and if there isn't a sale anytime soon maybe not ever.
The maps they've showcased in the beta are kinda mid and if that's the case I'm worried we aren't getting many more and it they are it isn't worth the price.

yeah it's not Battlefield as we know it. Nobody from the old games is involved in this. The EA suits want to go blow-for-blow with COD, releasing a new game every year. They probably smell blood in the water with COD competing mostly with Fortnite nowadays and abandoning their old niche in military shooters.

Zampella is remaking it into COD, eventually including all the dumb skins they sell to underage kids. And the bluesky dude had this thread verified as accurate by David Sirland from DICE

Be that as it may, Dice were still experienced at designing the games even if they had a streak of screwing up as of late. Yes I'm still annoyed at #EveryonesBattlefield. But getting COD devs to revive it is not the right direction at all if they just want to transform it into something else. I liked when there was a distinction. They'd might have continued screwing it up at the same time too. I think they just needed proper direction and less whining about why they lost a playerbase from their poor PR. There are things to already criticize Dice for opening the floodgates to bringing in COD, and that was them basically standardizing no problem community servers in BF V, which would later lead to no server browser at all. They're by no means innocent from blame.

Yeah and toddlers had better map design and destruction physics back in 2005 than whatever buggy live-service garbage we're being sold now. At least the toddler games used to come finished in a box.

Ybarra is a snake idk why anyone takes that retard seriously, probably why I always see this headline framed "former blizzard president"

They're getting pretty close now. Battlefield 6 guns feel like CoD guns. A development that started many sequels ago. It's almost like the Battlefield devs don't have faith in their ability to give the players actual recoil.
Both games have gunsmith attachment modifications.
CoD has Ground War, which is basically a Battlefield mode.
BF6 has small scale infantry-only modes, which is basically a Call of Duty mode.
So there's a lot of overlap.
