>Every other month steam releases some cool feature to improve their application and storefront
*Every other month, Steam releases some useless bloat that nobody uses and often serves to slow down the rest of the client, but shills can list it on the checklist even though you'd never use it compared to standalone versions.
And it's funny how long it takes them to include the BASIC FEATURES that a download client should have. Like you might not know this, little zoomer, but Steam didn't even have download re-ordering for the longest time. There's also glaring flaws that still exist that you don't know about, because you only have like 8 F2P games, but Steam still has issues like lacking asynchronous image loading that presents a software bottleneck to scrolling through any sizeable library, even though it's just loading little <10kb ICO files.
Compared to an actually good company like Epic, which lets you use token login to download and play games, so you're free to just use superior Open Source clients like Heroic. Meanwhile, Valve doesn't respect the customer enough to even let you use the official SteamCMD to run games, even though it's fully capable of it for servers and the like. Ridiculous.
