Woke Station 3 cost $600 USD in 2006, which is about $960 USD today.

Snoy was plagued by manufacturing issues in 2006 which meant the Woke Station 3 had a very slow start (yet, Snoy was never accused of deliberately causing a shortage, hmmm).

None of Snoy's issues are applicable to Switch 2.

Because Sony is SO deep in their "loss leader" strategy, that the profit margin of the Playstation branch is razor thin. They have a less than 10% profit margin on all their Playstation products combined.

For Metroid in particular, it was because we hadn't gotten anything for years after Other M, and then Federation Force certainly didn't help. So needless to say, the announcement of Prime 4 was very much a step in the right direction, and then we got Samus Returns on top of that, which was just icing on the cake. And then the dev shift happened, but hey, we got Dread to tide us over for a bit, so that was nice. And then we got Prime Remastered, which was very much a way for the new team at Retro to get more familiar with making a Metroid Prime game. And now it's been eight years since Prime 4 was announced, and we only have about four months left of the year they say it's coming out in, so understandably quite a few of us are getting particularly skeptical if it'll make it, especially since they haven't shown much of the game in the grand scheme of things

The launch year of Switch 2 technically won't end until June of next year. Considering the slate of games set for this year alone, it's looking pretty good, especially compared to most recent launches.
