Kept trying to tell them. The devs said early on when they showed off the new standard four that they refined the vocations so that each had one weapon.
That immediately stood out to me that there was now no reason to make some alternative blend of the basic classes nor redundant hybrids. The only two vocations left with any notable overlap are Mage and Sorcerer, and even they are more distinct from one another compared to the first.

Fags still misunderstand, "advanced" vocations were not powered up versions of the basic class's color; they're specialists with more min-maxed stats and gimmicks. And the Hybrids were not combinations, but a unique class with its own skillset that borrowed some moves to get more out of reusing assets.
That misunderstanding was one of the primary sources for all of the delusion of expecting every possible color to have a second shade and be fused together for 69 vocations.

DD2 was good but I'm mad because it should have been much, much better. DD1 is also my favorite game and I don't give a flying fuck about MH.

dd1 has a cult following for a reason. it had cool ideas and generally interesting implementation of them hamstrung by what was obviously a shitty development environment and lack of budget, so tons of the game was unfinished and did not get the polish it needed to shine.

unfortunately, dd2 revealed that itsuno was the issue in the development environment the entire time, and instead of making something truly better, he just made dd1 again without improving basically any aspect on the whole, except this time it takes a much stronger graphics card
