It's not a gpu issue. It's the EA anticheat. Probably pushes cpu usage to 100% momentarily every 30 seconds or so, something like that would be my guess. It's basically malware. There are many actual malwares that cause the exact same type of stutter, I remember it from the 2000s.

This game is kind of obnoxious. The lack of spread results in depth-less gunplay akin to V and 2042. Weapons are balanced around ADS time like in Call of Duty. There's a lot of apparent visual recoil and idle sway. The animations don't look or feel very smooth in terms of transitions, the slide in particular feels like something from nu-Wolfenstein rather than Battlefield. The Assault class is just a mess with the obnoxious weapon sling. Carbines are looking to be a superfluous category of slightly-weaker ARs again so that the class-lock advocate retards are happy (what is the FUCKING point if you're going to give every class carbines, DMRs and shotguns anyways? Either be very strict like BF1 or just open the entire thing up.) Soon it'll be getting the fucking respawn beacon too, a gadget that should've never even been added. Medic and Support truly fusing into one class is okay though I wish it was given a permanent smoke-launcher gadget alongside defibs and healing pack, and health regen seems to start really quickly again like in BF2042. I'm not going to lie I think being able to revive squadmates has worsened the game. Medics are a class you want to be highly present otherwise especially some maps/modes turn into horrible grindfests but DICE insists on devaluing their importance. Being able to skip revives leads to quick respawns and the whole 'waiting for revive' death screen is just so corny and ugly to me idk, I prefer BF4s death screen where your character is just dead and you track your killer for a bit. The UI is genuinely fucking awful and specifically the HUD during gunplay is so busy. Anyways it'll also have stupid ugly cosmetics that even if they stick to a military theme will result in each faction looking like incoherent randos and they'll obviously overprice all that shit and rely on FOMO for money because 70 bucks for a video game isn't enough ig. It feels like MW2019 Ground War a little bit.

For example most people never noticed the hardcoded mouse deceleration in the build engine (duke nukem 3d and many more) and the vast majority of it's sourceports. Most people didn't notice the input lag caused by vsync at 60hz (over 30ms in many games). Most people didn't notice the dual shock 2 was an abysmal peiece of shit, at least the ones in europe, because the actuation and tactile point of the buttons were completely separated

At this point, i think maybe the only thing i haven't tried is setting my refresh rate lower than 240hz. Maybe it's the high framerate i always have that the game doesn't like, I'm out of ideas. Set refresh rate to 144hz? 60hz? maybe that will work.

I was previously using the old drivers before i went to the newer. So that's the process i already went through. For me i can never get into the actual game anymore, i can't make it past this starting screen when i get into a mode. Or at least what I'm trying to say is that i can never play a full game online without crashing.

What i do know that suddenly every time i do crash, and i go to check the integrity of game files in Steam, at least 5 files fail to validate. And then upon starting the game it also has a very quick successive steam message about installing Javelin. So whenever there is a crash, the files get corrupted every single time. So the other option maybe is to go through Origin/EA app itself because maybe it's the Steam version that might be fucking up on me, I'm out of ideas. This is the first time I've ever played a DICE game directly from Steam. In the past i always used their app, so perhaps that's the discrepancy? maybe third party shit really sucks on Steam. But I'll look for the bios update.

The scoring system was nearly perfected in battlefield 2, rewarding teamplay and objective play more than kills. It's been getting worse with every subsequent release. Also the maps were big and only the squad leader was a mobile spawnpoint, this really improved squad cohesion and incentivized teamplay. Really made you try to keep the squad alive, especially the squad leader and the medic. You could have 6 players per squad, and vehicles could typically hold more people than later games

The "challenges" systems are awful for team based games. They make people forgo the team and the objective, just in favor to complete some contrived individual challenge or achievement. But game designers dont design games to be fun anymore, they design them to be addictive and maximize dopamine release and player retention

Not even remotely. The magnum slug caps at 65 damage from long distance regardless of if its a headshot. Also either they intentionally gimped it or the netcode is so bad that even landing a shot from that range is near impossible. I've put off updating BIOS since i assembled the thing in ~2017 because the board has some form of RAM failure error with XMP regardless of the clock speed it's set at, which causes it to randomly fail to post in startup pre-bios, and I haven't wanted to risk a complete bricking.
