Yes. The whole point is that Edelgard is fulfilling their interests when they're the ones responsible for ruining her life.

Okay on a macro level, Edelgard faults the church and Rhea for being just as guilty. Because Rhea's lie about where Crests come from is what created a world where people's obsession over Crests causes trauma like people selling their daughters or murdering whole families. Which isn't 100% wrong but 1. she can't lay noble psychos at the church's feet and 2. the game doesn't do enough to connect that to Edelgard's story. The Church HATES the Slitherers. The Slitherers have done more damage to Rhea than anyone else. If the Church knew what was happening in the Empire and where the Slitherers were, they would've mulched them the same day. But Edelgard devotes all of her energy into scrubbing the church off the face of the earth to the point of working with her family's killers to do it.

Now again, let's be fair to Edelgard. She and the Slitherers aren't friends. They just have like interests and are going to turn on each other after the war is over. Because Edelgard's goal is to end the shadow war between the Naabateans and Agarthans, since humans keep getting caught in the middle. But you can't blame people for getting mad at Edelgard. When she starts wagging her finger at Rhea doing bad things for the greater good as Edelgard herself does bad things for the greater good. Morfis is supposed to be some kind of Desert and they're supposed to be really good at magic. A land full of Pents.

Sure, seems fine. Rapier+ is actually a bit more effective than a Horseslayer. Armoured units aren't really a problem, she one taps those easily. I'd say the real reason Frozen Lance is better is because you can get mounted Lancefaire classes but you can't get mounted Swordfaire classes, for some very strange reason. Nonetheless going for Swords instead should give her more reliable one-shots in exchange for the movement. 20-30 as Assassin would be fine, you could even stay in it probably and go for S+ swords instead of A reason for Mortal Savant.

Without DLC Mortal Savant has that going for it. With it, it's hard to justify it over Dark Flier. You still drop Lancefaire but Reason ends up outscaling magic Combat Arts over the course of the game. Is that even possible? Conquest's plot was so fucking stupid I couldn't stomach a replay. I really wish IS is able to improve on its world-building, it adds so much to the game.
