>i can assure you it doesn't dissipate more than good air, nor is it quieter, and it doesn't cool the vrm at all
you literally don't understand basic physics behind coolers
it dissipates heat faster because liquid transfers the heat faster and because aio radiator has bigger and better surface area compared to the air cooler
faster dissipation means radiator fans don't have to spin as fast as air cooler fans which means less noise
vrm is covered by your case's intake-exhaust airflow, unless again you are an unironically braindead boomer somehow still buying cases with 5.25

My PC Gamer moment is pairing a Micro-ATX motherboard with a 6800xt. Sounds fine on paper, but the gpu blocks access to all but one SATA port (the only SATA ssd I managed to plug in BARELY fits, the connector is rubbing against the gpu.) and completely blocks access to my front USB3 connector so I can't even use that.

Live and learn. I'll make sure my next PC has a full-size ATX motherboard.

Modern GPUs and CPUs are being released overclocked out of the box, so they have much higher power draws. The most infamous example was with the 50 series of Nvidia cards where the connectors were literally melting because they weren't designed to handle the voltage. You know how a light bulb works? Force a current through a wire until it heats up and glows? That's what's happening here. Cooling systems and good airflow inside the case were important before now, but there's only so much they can compensate for connectors not intended for high voltage, so you either have to go in and underclock to components, have more resilient connecters or have more connectors to distribute the voltage, Nvidia accounted for none of this and a bunch of people's computers melted.

Hey newfriend, welcome to 4chan! It seems you've either left your trip and name on from another thread by accident, or you've been misled about their purpose!
4chan is a set of fora founded in part under the idea that an argument must stand on its own in order to be worthy of Merit. As such, applying names, avatars, signatures, or unique identifiers (trip codes) to your post when it is not necessary to identify yourself is considered bad form!
Generally, people who clearly do not understand the board culture will be taken less seriously. If you feel you need to apply your name, identity, sex, or social status to your argument, your argument must not be strong on its own.
There are some instances where a trip is necessary, such as when providing access to files, or making falsifiable updates to a long-running project. However, in most instances, it is better not to use them. Keep this in mind going forward, and happy posting!

Lol I remember I spilt coke on my tower and some went on my RTX 3080 and I took it out and spray soaked it in isopropyl alcohol and let it dry for days with a fan and it still works perfectly today. This was back in 2022.

I'm sticking to 144 and not even going to look at 280, I'm too scared I'll notice the difference and want it. Game developers are too shit and hardware will never compensate enough for 280 to be viable with anything other than top tier shit.
