Racing in this game is... not super fun. Even driving the fastest vehicles, the AI just rubberbands to catch up to you anyway, so victory is up to if you made a mistake at the end of the race. The start and middle don't matter.

This is explained by Alt as well as Arasaka, if you take that ending route. Your consciousness is holding on by threads by the time you reach Mikoshi or get sent to the space hospital. A large portion of who you were has already been altered by the engram of Silverhand, and simply ripping out what is left of your mind onto a chip and then putting you back into your body would still lead to your death, similar to a body rejecting an organ transplant. Which is why Alt offers you the choice of continuing to live for about 6 months before your body gives out, or taking that last step over the ledge to fully give your body over to Johnny, since it's practically his at that point anyways.
With Arasaka, they don't have the acumen of an extremely advanced AI like Alt, so their only option is to stick whats left of you on a chip and put you in storage until they can figure out how to patch up the parts that were destroyed and plant you into a new body without side effects.

Personally, I think it's all bullshit. By the time the scientists realize it won't be a quick fix, Saburo has taken over Yori's body and Hanako/Takemura get sidelined, along with their promise to you. Papa Arasaka don't give a fuck about some gaijin thief now that he got the ultimate payback on his shithead son. You're getting slotted into Mikoshi to rot until the Blackwall falls.

Ok so id like to start out with the fact that I absolutely love cyberpunk 2077. The gameplay style and cinematic qualities are awesome. My one complaint after just finishing the game is that I feel like they forgot that there are also STRAIGHT women who play the game. I didn't mind playing the Judy route, and actually found it to be quite romantic. BUT, I did have an issue when doing the river route. I feel like he was kind of an afterthought to the devs and maybe they added him like, last minute? I don't know but it threw me off. And yes I know there are mods that allow you to romance anyone but idk. Rubs me the wrong way. If you're a girl id love to know your opinion on this especially! How to Romance Judy as Male:

Download the CyberTweaks mod and put the files in your install folder.

This will allow you to access console commands to edit quest parameters and change flags, which is what we want.

Once in game, play as normal until you get to Judy quest, try to use a save right before or at Pyramid Song quest.

Hit the console command key ~ (It's your quick key, default tilde)

Paste this into console and hit enter: Game.GetQuestsSystem():SetFactStr("judy_romanceable", 1)

The next protagonist in Cyberpunk 2 is taking inspiration from edgerunners and it’s an older man/woman (depending on character creation choices) who is the one of most powerful people in whatever background you chose. What's funny to me is that while the ending itself may be annoying, it's pretty easily interpretable as a "good" ending. It's presented as depressing for dramatic effect, which it somewhat is, but it doesn't say V lost his money or that all hope is completely lost.
The funny thing is when Songbird simps start seething whenever you bring up the fact that V still has a life and opportunities in that ending. It's like an unwritten rule that you can't pick that ending because you're *supposed* to die, like if you're playing cyberpunk you must want to die like Johnny Silverhand, drugged out of his mind on a suicide mission against some local corpo assets, and you're too square if you decide to live.
I think the Phantom Liberty writers also didn't want that ending to exist, but their boss told them to add it, so they did their best to make it seem like V's life after the surgery is a fate worse than death without explicitly stating it. I think the ending suffers from that fact, but not that much. The only annoying thing is the cherry on top where you don't get a pre-ending autosave in that ending like you do in the other one, as if they really want to hammer it in that the ending you picked isn't the correct one.

Dogtown is so much more polished and tight experience than the main game, that it's ridiculous contrast with coming back to proper city after it.
