Should I try this again? I dropped it when you get to the first tv interview with Alan because the detective board shit was lame and it took a lot of time until I could shoot stuff

If you just want to play Resident Evil 4 go play Resident Evil 4.
If you want trippy postmodernist bullshit but with more gun shoot go play Control.
Alan Wake is a deliberative metafictional horror drama with the occasional action setpiece.

I couldn't get more than an hour into the game because of the constant jumpscares where it zooms in on the negresses face, which is a shame because the gameplay seemed fun enough and I wanted to see where Alan's story goes. I found a mod that makes her "white" but it's just a texture swap so she looks like an albino nigger. People in the comments of the mod were talking about a mod that actually fixes her but no one had it and I couldn't find it anywhere. Does anyone here have it?

Alan Wake the first is basically off-brand RE4 gameplay-wise with "bro remember Twin Peaks" but it's a lot more action-y if that's what you want. American Nightmare is just the action parts cranked up.
