iirc turning massively increases your encounter rate, so you mitigate that by dragging the screen to see where you should go

wtf you're supposed to do that whenever you hit a cap. the stat gains from level-ups are massive (your level resets on evolution too but you retain stats so you get a fuckton), while stat loss on devolution to baby is a mere 20~40% per stat
