Dandy's World: Out of Print
Plot: Part 1
After years of neglect and the Toons' constant failure to stop the Twisteds and the ichor leaks, Gardenview finally fell into the hands of a real estate agent who managed to sell the museum's land to a war veteran named Liam James, who wanted to turn the site into a hotel.
So he went to fulfill his acquisitiveness prescription along with his pets. The place brought back memories of one of his nieces before the war who wanted to visit the place and see the Toons.
Which the Man thought were just strange mascots handled by dwarves, as he didn't believe such things were actually real Toons.
Upon arriving at the place, he saw that from the outside it looked like the ruins of a large building, but upon entering, the place was abnormally clean and untouched. But while staying in one of the rooms, he was disturbed by sounds coming from the lobby. Supposing they were rats or homeless people, he grabbed his shotgun and headed for the source of the sound coming from one of the elevators.
He proceeded to descend to the first floor where one of his cats surprised him, thinking it was a rat, only to turn around and see a menacing figure, which he killed with a shotgun blast. He mockingly thought it was just a fat rat, but as he got closer, he saw it better. For a second, he thought it was a homeless person in a costume until he picked it up, surprised by how light it was, only to see a black liquid oozing from the thing's wound.
Added to that, when he looked at its face, he saw that, despite his fleeting idea from a disguise, the thing was an actual, real-life cartoon.
To then see how from among the furniture more things like the thing he just killed began to emerge, one of these pulling out of the floor a kind of black tentacle that scared him, he took his cat and ran to the elevator where he saw how these things simply looked at him until he leave the lower floor.
