when playing a RPG, how often do you stick with the starting party?
usually you're presented with alternate party members as the game progresses, but I always find myself sticking with the starting (or first to join) members from beginning to end and never switch them out. often i'm tempted to shake things up and not be a basic bitch and, but i feel bad if i replace the crew who stood with me since the beginning. like i would be betraying them. am i autistic?

Yeah, probably. What would you say is the starting party in this game? Lae'zel and Shadowheart? I kept them because I liked them, and not because you meet them first.
Do you like everyone you meet, OP?

Almost all of tge time theres no point to switching party mbers as you can build all of them to be like each other.
Lets see
>persona 3: MC, Aigis, Akihiko, Mitsuru
>persona 4: MC, Naoto, Yukiko, Yosuke
>persona 5: MC, Makoto, Ann, Morgana (doesn't matter in this one cause baton pass)
>smt v: I keep alice and idun from midgame to endgame, the rest are all late game super demons.
>final fantasy 7: Cloud, Tifa, Yuffie
>ff6: locke, Celeste, Terra, cyan
>ff9: zidane, eiko, garnet, freya

yeah, Lae'zel and Shadowheart.
though this one is a little different because most of the cast is presented at the same time so it's hard to say if there even is a starting party. though nevertheless, I found myself sticking with Lae'zel and Shadowheart because we escaped the ship together and then Astarion because he was the first person we found once crashed.
and then I kept the party for the entire game. never swapped, though I can't say I disliked the other options. just found myself sticking with the first comers.
never even considered joining up with some of the late Act 3 apperances like Mink

Thanks for replying 30 minutes later and still not answering my question. I'll assume you do actually like everyone you meet, which isn't normal at all. I'm the complete opposite of you, and I dislike most people I meet. I'm a lot like Lae'zel, who you know because you've played BG3. Anyway, my point is that the average person is somewhere between me and you.
If you look at the post above you, some guy played FF7 but didn't keep the nigger you start with. He also used Yuffie, who you don't meet anywhere near the start. That's how most people play.

Pretty common, there's a reason most people stick with their starter Pokemon and keep it as their strongest-leveled

I usually stick with the weirdoes and the characters I like the most. My main FF6 party was Sabin, Edgar, Gau and Gogo.

It just depends whos coolest but there is always at least 1 if not more tryhard cool guys that join later and they are usually not that cool because of the tryhardness.

For the first playthrough. It gives me a great bottom line to compare stats and mechanics with. In Fromsoft games I always start off as a standard knight just to get a feel for things on the first run too. If a character or item/skill really catches my eye on the first run I incorporate it.
