If this is true, then why are older Rockstar games more fun than the new ones

isn't his whole argument that the older games were funner?

Also his entire argument is retarded anyway cause having linear story missions are meant to juxtapose the open world non linear stuff. this has literally been rockstar's design philosophy forever

Ultimately his only real argument is that missions are too restrictive...which is the lowest hanging fruit imaginable and insanely obvious yet he somehow stretches that point out into a 40 minute video

You had more freedom in the older games. Plus they're woke now

Older rockstar also would do dumb over the top shit for fun because they knew it would be fun for the player to do it. Newer rockstar has their head so far up their own ass chasing "realistic" that fun becomes an after thought for a lot of missions. Like whoever thought making Trevor do freight management at the docks was a fun idea was a jackass. Like the only memorable part of the mission is flyoid returning to the apartment at the end covered in shit

Were people in 2018 insane? RDR2 was super innovative and high quality. I think the RDR1 port really showed how fucking stupid these contrarians really were.

All that innovation and quality doesn't make it more fun.

rdr2 is an odd game because in many ways, it's incredibly detailed, beautiful, and alive in a way that basically no contemporary games are – and despite this, the game is so incredibly boring and handholdy that i have zero desire to engage with it ever again. the basic mechanics of moving around and shooting are so dull, which means that all the window dressing and small details that go into making the world don't quite make up for what you're missing gameplay-wise. what a disappointment
