That's literally all it is, it's a glorified field attack to get a priority start to the battle. Have you played daybreak? I think the numbers flying around confuses people but the damage you do is a pittance compared to what your actual attacks in turn based mode inflict. You're just slapping them on the field until you get your shard break or whatever tf it's called.

Even ignoring the high speed mode thing or whatever the fuck that is those walking/running animations look awful. Every character moves with the same tempo so it looks like they're all sliding everywhere because their stepping pace doesn't match their size. The sky trilogy has something that i LOVED which is the over all consistency in terms of power level, the first games it has estelle around 0-4k HP numbers (and shes facing 12k enemies), then in SC she goes from 4k HP to 12K HP (facing enemies around 20K) and then 3rd she has those 20k facing those enemies from SC (the enforcers) properly since shes 20k HP aka power level

They kept an overrall logic but it seems they dropped that here, unless SC remake starts with 13k or more

Love how slowburn the FC is, love its world building, love the characters and how unorthodox the music is
Then in SC they upped up in everything. Post-kuro Trails isn't hybrid either, the only moment in which you can treat it as such is the crimson sin fight(and I'm going to guess kai's final boss as well) because the game forces you back into field combat for a while before you can deploy shards again.

I am one of the few that likes how the Combat looks and how it is seamless the transition is from fighting enemies to then going back to normal on the battlefield.

My only hope is the translation is faithful like they have been saying it will because I have avoided Trails like the plague due to the writing being stilted. full of memes. Granted there is the mods to fix it, but I just wanted this modern look for a long time.

The problem is most characters in 7R are based on ramp-up mechanics. The AI is really fucking bad at doing this so there's barely any reason to swap because you're just doing 90% of the work yourself anyway so why not just stick on whoever you like playing the most? It's same loop of buildup and payoff regardless. You either do three full "rotations" on the character you like or one "rotation" on three different characters.

They could fix this by making the AI smarter for a minute or so after you swap off of them so it would actually be beneficial to rotate between characters but with the way the game is designed character swapping is purely for variety. It doesn't actually do anything.

When I played Daybreak for first time, I got the english translation patch and applied it to the official one. It was on an NG+ that I've read that the patch modified the Connect points that you can use so you can get them all on a single run.

I've played with a fanpatch and it was pre-built with enough stock time for all the connect events. In kai falcom actually allows you to see all connect events in one playthrough in grim garten. You only need to farm stock time in grim garten gacha
