a lot of games hard difficulty just turns everything into a number sponge that encourages you to use degenerate tactics. Typically only bad games though

Many games where "difficulty" is just damage/health modifiers or right-out cheating AI (in RTS).

Honor mode is the way to go, its the best thing about the game.
I don't think i played a RPG that understood difficulty tweaks more than this one.
