That’s the thing-Mario Kart's always been kinda loose with proportions. Baby Luigi can somehow drive a kart bigger than him and still drift around corners like a pro. Stylized models don't always match real age logic. If anything, they just hit that ambiguous toddler zone where they can babble, kinda talk, but still fit the “baby” brand. Probably closer to 18 months, max.

Supposedly it's part of the meta in Gran Prix because you're getting hit by so many items that high acceleration is really good, however there are also longer stretches and times where you break from the pack where higher top speed is good. Personally I feel like I do better with more balanced characters and karts.

The physics of players collision with each other is kinda dum. Everyone running lightweights because it's a meta. I'm middle weight so I expect to push people out of the way when rumming into them yet I get pushed off the map by a combo that lighter than my.

Baby Rosalina is gameplay-wise worse than the other babies though because she specializes in Water racing.
