Top Ride is fun once you unlocked the hidden items and you're not playing with bots. A shame we didn't see it in the direct. Air Ride looks a lot better than the original game with new mechanics being added. My issue with the original game's Air Ride mode was it felt pretty empty and not enough players. Wished the number of racers increased to between 8 to 12, but at least it's not fucking 4 again.

It comes from Sakurai wanting the Kirby anime to stay in his own world, so he mandated against the anime creators doing that "mascot befriends human children and the show happens through them", sort of like the Doraemon format. But then they ended up doing that anyway, they just made them humanoid alien children instead.
And Sakurai has no problems with humans in Kirby, he made Nightmare and wanted to let people believe the NME Salesman was a human for most of the series.
My personal theory is he hates Adeleine not because she's human in itself, but because the way she scales to him means Kirby is probably almost 3 ft tall, when Sakurai is very attached to his "Kirby is 8 inches" headcanon.

I'll take my licks again, this should be the bare minimum for a Kirby game's roster. I'm glad he's trying to match it to some extent and this also sets a precedent for him; he can't ignore the other Kirby games anymore if he goes back to Smash, now you'll have to consider a Smash title with Bandana Dee or Gooey even as newcomers. A step in the right direction, if nothing else.

The real litmus test is if he adds Ribbon or Adeleine, everything about this game screams for a scenario where you can ride the giant crystal from Crystal Shards and Ribbon is the perfect character for that. Not Dark Matter makes me think a stand-in might appear instead.
