Oldbros
I'm an old dude and I play the same 10 games over and over for the last decade or two, but lately I've tried some newer games and 4/5 of them suck

I also don't recognise any of the games you guys talk about, I assume most of the threads here are advertisements anyway

But here's 3 hidden gems that I played recently that you guys will probably hate because you're all tweens
>Thea the Awakening
>Dustland Delivery
>Sheltered

Thanks for ready my blog

Hmm ok. So game recs?
>Wrongworld
Survival craft yada yada but it is cool and has genuinely interesting things all around
>Door in the Woods
Think Rogue meets unspeakable horrors. Not as complicated but definitely harder. The graphics are sick and really allow your imagination to work. Half the time it's a race to kys before losing all sanity.
>Dungeons of Dredmore
Might be the nostalgia. Really goofy dungeon crawler with fantastic art and music. Early 2000s internet humor but it's not that cringy.
>Bookworm Adventures 1+2
You know what is, babyyyyy also abandonware

Gonna add some easily emulatable console games.
>No More Heroes 1+2
Breakin da rules out the gate, this shit feels great to motion control. I remember dying to a boss in 2 and shaking the wiimote in frustration like a baby. Turns out it's a hidden feature that can revive you. Just try it I say.
>Chibi Robo
Cute and charming game about a robot trying to make a dysfunctional family happy.
>Cubivore
I just like it. It's ugly but it's unique. Nostalgia talkin.

I'm a 34 years old bald virgin 3rd world spic asshole who enjoys vidya, and lacked a lot of consoles during my teens. So between my studies, and even considering emulating some games with a toaster PC, there's a lot of games i haven't played yet, so i'll never run out of games to play as long as i live. Only possibles obstacles might be death and finally getting a gf or taking care of family
So in the end, while latest game releases might surely suck, nothing compels you to keep playing the same 10 games and try something new other than your pwn old lazy ass, so fuck you OP

Thanks for that, I play the same games because they're comfy singleplayer games that I can have a nice cup of tea and chill with them, I'm also just glad I wasn't born a 3rd world brown person.

Just puttin out whatever
Games that need no explanation
>Deus Ex
>Ultima Underworld
>Thief
Games that are cool and laid back fun
>Sidewords
Another word game, shit is always fun
>Xanadu Next
Gave me a similar feeling to playing Alundra but this is more like Diablo. Very simple and in that is a lot of charm.
>Condemned Criminal Origins
It's Criminal Minds as a game.
>The Longest Journey
Have a guide ready but otherwise a fantastic atmosphere and wonderful game. Point and click bullshit. Honorable Mention Sanitarium and Broken Sword
>Umihara Kawase
Just give it a chance bro please I swear it's good and not bullshit please

True oldfag here.
Been on this site since 2005. Take that how you may.

Majority of all the modern slop form the past 15 years have been catastrophically horrible.
The gaming really started declining circa 2006, especially after mobile-shit got big, consoles went online, and extra so when the woke shit started happening in the States.

I too have found myself enjoying mostly older games the past 20 or so years now. Some my old favorites from back in the day (RE1-3, SH1-3, FF7, Zelda:OoT-MM, DOOM...), some classics I missed when they were still new (SS2, Banjo-Kazooie, Parasite Eve...).
Quite many of them still hold up.

That being said, I've never had trouble finding something "new" to play and enjoy, every single passing year.

Recently got into Yakuza series with the Zero, and it's been a wild, exciting ride since then. Really got some Metal Gear vibes out of them.
Deep Rock Galactic ended up being the greatest co-op action game I'd ever played, and a source of endless fun with the boys.
I legit had no idea what to expect from Death Stranding, but once I picked it up, I ended up playing it for like a dozen hours a day, for a couple weeks.
Ultrakill and Serious Sam 3 ended up being the very remedy against the cancerous nu-Doom and Halo shit that have taken over the mainstream shooter market.

And then there's the good old modding scenes for many of these games, that keep pumping out endless waves of new content, every passing month.
