Fire Emblem games need to stop letting you reclass your units into anything. I don't care how funny it is to make your twig mage into a barbarian, it's dumb. A big consequence of that besides taking away unit identity by making the most optimal route just reclassing everyone to the same class is that nobody gets unique models. Everyone is just a copy paste head model onto a palette swapped generic model. Give a character only two/three reclass options at most and give them unique models for all of them. They can also update the portraits as to match.

Also every game should do what Engage did and have out of combat outfits for everyone, especially if you're gonna be having a hub world between chapters. Having two characters eat dinner together in clunky ass knight armor is retarded.

Fucking up that chapter made me want to actually start my first playthrough on lunatic. The dragon chapter was actually pretty goddamn tricky. Can say I'm really digging it.
However, now I'm here. Conquest is apparently better but I gotta say the intro chapters made me not care for anybody on either side, however the plot is setup in a way that it doesn't really make sense to just go back to Nohr. I'd totally just leave them all hanging, but I don't want to do the dlc route for my first playthrough.

Anyway the best play order for Fates imo is

Conquest after Birthright because it's a better game. Revelation after Conquest because it's le golden route and reveals all the "secrets." It sucks though, keep that in mind.

Birthright has simple maps/objectives and allows grinding. Its plot is kinda boring but non offensive.
Conquest has a lot of maps that are pretty tough and the AI is a bit smarter. You can't grind and there is some pretty severe resource limitation. The plot is offensively retarded. My favorite song in all of FE is in it. Its the one I replay by far the most.
Revelations has weird ass gimmicky maps, trash unit balance, and allows grinding. The plot is actively retarded but who cares, you have access to almost the entire roster and you can make child units at your convenience.
