They do. Back in 4, class-specific weapons were still worth using. In that one, I mostly ran carbines, DMRs, and shotguns, the "all classes can use" weapons, when running recon and not wanting to bushwookie it up. In 6, I ended up running carbine for every class but assault by the end of the beta because god damn does it get tiring having CQC weapons like PDWs lose every single CQC engagement and LMGs having no situation where they're actually useful.

I was top 100 in BF4 PC. None of my peers liked spread, they all wanted it removed. Did we deal with it? Yes, because Battlefield used to be a fun IP and we still stomped despite the annoyance of missing shots. It turned into a game of keeping their accuracy high enough to have an advantage but low enough to seem realistic for the third party AC/admins because punkbuster was far dead and gone by that point.

Did you use the DMR unlocked at 17? 2 hit kill anywhere in the body at any range, and with attachments it can have absurd hipfire accuracy. It was absolutely nasty, especially since I noticed a trend in BF6, (including with myself), of people not noticing how low their health was after being shot- so instead of shooting someone once and they panic and run, they almost always stop what they're doing and attempt to "stand and deliver", but when the first hit did 60 damage and the second is already lined up all they're doing is accepting death. (I suppose that's a side effect of laser accurate guns and short ttk, why bother trying to run if you're probably gonna die anyway? Might as well try to get lucky and hope the enemy is already dead)

I didn't use the shotgun with slugs, but given the pump time, I'd probably prefer bang-bang dead at any range over trying to aim for the head in a chaotic mess of a battlefield with a single shot before needing to pump- otherwise I'd just use the bolt action.

Second, that is a bug that is almost certainly the same one that existed in previous games and was eventually fixed-
